“Make sure your thumb is outside your fist, so you don’t break anything, Auntie Trinny. Your thumb! Fix your thumb!” Emerson instructed, doing a little cheer-style dance.

Barrick gave his eldest a high five. “Great spot, Em. You’ll make an amazing coach one day.”

“I know. I’m amazing at everything, Daddy. Papa and MiMi tell me all the time.” But then she got distracted and skipped over to where her brother was poking at something with a stick.

I glowered at my business partner in frustration. “Should I help Trinity…or…maybe him?”

“Does it look like she needs your help, brother?” he called with a grin. “And does it honestly look as if roid-boy needs your assistance?”

Scrubbing a hand over my close-cropped beard, I glanced back at Trinity. She’d listened to Emerson’s suggestion. From where I was standing, she didn’t appear to need my help, and although Luca was moaning and groaning, he could have pulled her off him at any time.

“Dad, why is Mom beating on Luca Thornton?” Banks hissed as he walked up to us.

“He said something she didn’t like, son,” I explained.

“She’s really whaling on him. He’s, like, the best defensive player in the league, and she’s kicking his ass.”

“Language!” Luca said, pointing straight at Banks. He just stood there, getting beat on by a considerably smaller woman, but his eyes got wild when he heard anyone say a curse word around his kid.

“Don’t you scold my son!” Trinity snarled.

Fuck, but she was even sexier when she was in momma-bear mode. I wanted to snatch her off Luca’s back and find a private room somewhere—anywhere—so I could taste every beautiful inch of her.

“Your son shouldn’t be cursing around my daughter!” Luca countered. “And you’re, like, twenty-four. He’s what? Nine?”

“He’s about to turn eleven,” Trinity informed him. “And shut up. I don’t want to hear any more of your ‘daddy’ bull—”

“Don’t say it, Trin. I’m warning you right now!”

“And I’m warning you.” Hopping off his back, she was breathing hard, but she glared from one twin to the other. “If I hear either of you saying crap about Jarrett being my sugar daddy, or my children’s ages compared to mine, I will spill all your secrets.”

“I don’t keep secrets from Violet,” Luca said with a shrug.

“Mila and I tell each other everything. She knows about everything I’ve ever done,” Lyric said, wrapping an arm around his wife’s thick waist.

“I believe you,” Trinity said with an emphatic nod. “But does your dad?”

“What don’t I know?” Jesse Thornton asked.

“The list is endless,” she said with an evil glimmer in her pretty eyes. I had to shift my legs; the sight of all that evil inside my sweet angel was one of the hottest things I’d ever witnessed. “There was that time when Luca—”

Luca covered her mouth with his hand, and he gave his father a tight smile. “Whoa, it’s hot out here. Trin must have been cooking in the heat for too long. Let’s get her inside and hydrated.”

Jesse gave his eldest son a skeptical brow lift, but he walked over to where Devlin Cutter was chatting with his son and several rocker legends I’d yet to be introduced to. As soon as Jesse’s back was turned, Luca dropped his hand and wiped it on his shirt. “You licked me!”

“I would have bitten you, but I couldn’t open my mouth wide enough.”

“You would have really told him!” Luca whined. “How could you narc like that, Trin?”

“Very easily, actually,” she assured him. “Be good to my family today, or I’ll make sure you live to regret it. Both of you.”

“Yes, ma’am,” Lyric muttered, his bottom lip pouting out.

“I’ll think about it,” Luca said, crossing his massive arms over his chest.

“Hey, Uncle Jesse, I forgot to tell you about—” Luca’s hand covered her mouth again, causing her next words to be mumbled against his palm.

“Fine. You win.”
