Even Love Bug gasped but then giggled. “And that’s how it’s done!”

“Dude, Love Bug is kinda savage,” I heard Isaac mutter to Ian.

“I told you,” he snickered at his twin.

No sooner had Luca taken down the QB than he was standing, but the quarterback didn’t immediately move. Everyone stepped back to show the guy still on the ground, the ball in his hand, but his arm at an awkward angle.

“Well, that’s game over,” Lyric said as he moved away from the window. “Luca broke the QB, and the second-string isn’t nearly as good as that a-hole.”

“Language, Uncle Ric!” Love Bug admonished, making me grin.

The quarterback walked off the field with assistance from two trainers, and the backup took his place. But as Lyric predicted, the man wasn’t nearly as good. Plus, he kept looking in Luca’s direction, and I wasn’t sure it was the extreme cold that made the poor guy tremble. His first throw was incomplete. The clock kept running down, and he actually got two first downs, but then his next throw was intercepted.

Realizing the defense had the ball, Luca barreled through the offense, clearing the path so his teammate could get as far down the field as possible. The crowd was going crazy on the television sets, but when Luca and the other guy crossed the goal line, they all went silent.

Getting to my feet, I nearly peed my pants, but I glanced around at everyone. “Watch Love Bug. I have to be down there when the clock runs out.”

Our family was already cheering and promised they would watch over her. Brady had to run to keep up with me. Neither of us knew how to get to the field, but we somehow figured it out, and since we both had all-access passes, no one stopped us as we walked out of the tunnel. We could hear the chaos before we even stepped outside. If I didn’t have Brady at my side to steady me, I would have ended up on my ass more than once, but all I could think about was getting to Luca.

Out of breath, I saw him. Someone was already interviewing him, while his teammates continued to celebrate around him. But as if he could sense me, he stopped midsentence and turned his head. My steps slowed, and then suddenly, he was in front of me, lifting me off my feet. I wrapped my legs around his waist, and he spun us around twice before kissing me so deeply it stole what little air remained in my lungs.

“Luca, just a moment of your time.”

“Luca, can you give me two seconds to answer a few questions?”

“Luca—”

“Luca—”

All around us, people were calling his name, but when he lifted his head, his amazing eyes never wavered from mine. “I told you I’d win.”

“You did,” I murmured, blinking back tears of happiness for him.

“Now you’re going to marry me next week and make all my dreams finally come true.”

“I will,” I agreed.

“I love you so much, Vi. Always.”

“I-I love you too,” I breathed. “Forever.”

With me still wrapped around him, Luca finally gave a few interviews, and then they were clearing the field and setting up to hand over the trophy. His parents had brought Love Bug down. Luca held our daughter in his arms, and the team owner handed Luca the Lombardi Trophy first.

Love Bug “helped” him hold it up, and the love and adoration on both their faces for each other kept me in tears the entire time. The MVP was announced, and Uncle Jesse and Layla both burst into tears when Luca’s name was called.

Surprised, he looked down at me with wonder in his swirling eyes.

“Best day ever?” I whispered.

He shook his head. “Not even close. Ask me again next Saturday.”

Chapter 16

Luca

I was more stressed over saying my vows than I had been winning the Super Bowl the previous Sunday. Anxiously, I waited for the officiant to get through his part so we could speak our vows. The entire time, I couldn’t tear my eyes off Vi.

If she’d taken my breath away when I’d seen her in that dress months before, I couldn’t breathe looking at her now. Her now-huge tits were pressed up, nearly spilling out of the top, while the material stretched tight over her ever-growing belly even though she wore a full-skirted princess gown in a gradient of purples and blues and greens, made of layers of tulle and some other fabric that I was clueless about.
