“Look.”

The towels on his chest and stomach changed color. They showed grey spots on the area where the cuts were. I lifted the towel from Will’s chest.

“It’s pulling the poison from the wounds.” I watched the big slashes knitting themselves back. “Will, say something.”

“It doesn’t hurt that much.”

My fingers trailed to his forehead. He was still warm and flush but wasn’t burning up anymore.

“It’s working.”

The wounds started to knit themselves back, slowly, one by one.

“You’ll be fine.”

We stood there watching the cuts heal. Will opened his eyes. A layer of sweat covered his pretty features.

“You,” he whispered.

I nodded. “Guys, move him to the couch. He needs to rest. Careful with the IV.”

“I can walk.”

“Listen to Yana.” Soren barked the order.

“Yes, Alpha.”

“You can walk, but I don’t want you to stand up alone. Torin and Gunnar will help you.”

“Yana, thank you.”

I dismissed him with a nod. He was weak after the blood loss, but his body was repairing itself as I watched. It was like watching a magic show.

Alistair still sat on the kitchen floor, leaning his face against his knees, his arms wrapped around them.

“Soren?”

“Yana.”

His arms wrapped around me. I placed my face against his chest. My body shook with the power of the emotions that ran through me. I pushed myself softly away from him.

“I have one question, and I need a straight answer from you. Did you know Alistair is my father?”

Soren’s eyes swallowed mine. His body took a different stance.

“Please, tell me.”

“Yes.”

“And did you know that he was alive all these years?”

“Yes.”

“Did you invite me over, knowing my father was there? Did you have any intention of telling me who he was?”

“It’s not that simple.”

I slapped a wolf for the second time, hard. “You lied to me. Again and again. Nick lied. He lied about why he was coming late from work. Then he lied about where he was after work and lied to get away for days in a row. I hate being lied to.”
