“Couldn’t have waited ten freaking minutes?” Cole barks.

“With all due respect, if I had waited ten minutes, my girl would be dead.”

Dane fixes me with scathing eyes. “You mean your sister?”

“She ain’t my sister.”

“Bullshit!” he growls. “The last thing we need is fucking inbred—”

Brooke steps out from my shadow. “It’s true! He’s not my brother. Never was.”

“They’re lying!” Dane challenges.

“Take one look, numb nut.” Blake chuckles. “Do they look blood related?”

“His mother married my father, which would make us step-siblings, but we weren’t even that because his mother refused to acknowledge him,” Brooke explains.

“Is that true?” Cole asks.

I nod. “Yeah, not that it’s any of your business.”

“Jesus-fucking-Christ,”Cole mutters. “I swear to God if you guys have a three-headed baby, I’ll string you up myself.”

A light scamper alerts us to danger, and we raise our weapons.

“It’s not a threat!” Brooke shouts. “There’s a girl.”

A dark silhouette skirts the room.

Alistair jets forward, stepping straight into the figure’s path, knocking it to the floor.

There’s a tiny gasp followed by a light sob.

I look at Brooke, my brow furrowed. “Who is that?”

“Frank’s new girl. He was making her watch what they did to me as a warning.”

Cold rage pumps through my veins, and I have to remind myself that the fucker is dead and he’s not coming back.

Alistair talks softly to the sobbing girl, who is shaking in fear. Hopefully, she’s uninjured and will calm some of the rough edges that my claiming of Brooke will undoubtedly cause.

“Are there any more?” Dane asks, his eyes hungry.

Brooke shrugs. “There were about ten girls when I was dancing here, some old, all of them strung out. They moved the club, though.”

“Of course it would be too much to ask for a dozen enthusiastic strippers,” Dane grumbles.

“Do you know where they moved to?” Cole asks.

“No clue.” She nods over to Alistair and the girl. “But she might know.”

“We thinking about raiding?” Blake asks.

Cole shakes his head. “Not now, I don’t want trouble, but if we have to close up the Keep, it’ll be good if we can get our hands on some ass first.”

Brooke snickers but says nothing because she knows the way the world is now.

Cole inspects the dead bodies, making sure they stay that way. “Looks like the bomb warning didn’t do its job.”
