I shift off the bar stool, careful not to spill anything on my white gown, and turn to see Killian walking towards me through the crowd of people. I feel my heart fluttering in my chest, the one person that I missed most in this world—and his eyes were completely focused on me.

I walk over to him, meeting him halfway through the crowd of drunk partygoers. He doesn’t bother greeting me, and simply pulls me into a heated kiss. It feels like that first time, only better because of what we were about to do.

I put my hands on his chest, feeling that strong heartbeat beneath his vest. I can’t believe I finally get to touch him in person. It feels like a dream. Like a fairytale.

He pulls back from me slowly, cupping my face while running his thumb over my cheeks.

“Fuck, you’re gorgeous, Nella.”

I smile up at him. “I made you something on the plane ride over here.”

I shove my hand into my dress pocket and pull out a small, wrapped package, handing it over to him. He gives me a smile and rips the paper apart, pulling out the knitted bowtie that I made him.

He laughs. “Nella, this is perfect.”

“Want me to put it on you?”

“Please.”

He bends, watching me with amusement while I string the bowtie around his neck and clip it into place. I smooth down the lapels of his suit and pat his chest. It’s kind of ugly, but it’s fitting.

“Perfect.”

“I have something for you too.”

I lean into him. “You do?”

“Yes, but I can’t give it to you yet.”

I pout at him. “Why not?”

“I need to save it for the chapel.”

A thrill races through me. “Well, what are we waiting for?”

Etta laughs at us, smiling brightly when Killian nods a greeting to her, before following along when he takes my arm and escorts me out of the bar. We’d ended up on the strip in one of the many bars across from the 24/7 chapels that Las Vegas is famous for.

I squeeze Killian’s arm in my own and can’t help but let out an excited noise when he pushes open the door to the glitz and glam chapel that Etta had suggested when we’d landed. I look around the space; the crystalline displays beautiful, eye-catching.

Killian leads me over to the front desk, giving the clerk our name for our appointment. She nods and crosses our names off before gesturing for us to follow her back. We are led to a deeper part of the chapel where a priest in a business suit is waiting for us.

Behind me, Etta trails, holding the bouquet that she’d suggested I hold for pictures at the end.

I turn to her and hold out my hand for it, gladly accepting it when we reach the altar.

“Good evening, you two,” the priest greets us. “Shall we begin?”

I grin and glance over at Killian, surprised to see his own wide smile.

“Do we have rings to exchange?”

I blink in surprise. Shit, I didn’t even think of that—

“Yes,” Killian says next to me, surprising me completely.

I look over at him, turning when he moves to face me and digs his hand into the pocket inside of his suit jacket. He pulls out a small piece of cloth and unravels it, revealing a beautiful gold ring with a dark green gem in the center of it.

I feel my heart flutter.
