“I know you are, baby girl. Just let me take care of you anyway, please? I need this. I hate seeing you upset.” Unable to argue with him when he was being so sweet, I gave in and nodded. If I were honest with myself, I was feeling pretty off kilter. It would be good to have Grey close until that feeling stopped.

“Oh my God!” Fiona cried dramatically as she came running into the house. She was dressed in skin tight jeans and a white tank top, both of which she pulled off in a stylish, yet relaxed sort of way that I never could. “What happened? Are you okay? Did the guys break up with you?” she asked all at once.

“What? No! Of course n-not,” I replied, shocked. “I’m okay. I’m just having a rough day. Would it be okay if we just stay here this afternoon instead? Sorry. I know you w-wanted to go to that shopping centre, but I d-don’t think I can.”

“Of course it’s okay,” she told me. “We can go to the mall anytime. Let’s just hang out and watch some movies. I can order us some food from that Italian place I took us to before, if you’re hungry?”

“Thanks Fi. That sounds perfect,” I agreed with a smile. We hadn’t had much time to hang out since I met her, but she was really turning out to be a great friend and I was so grateful to have her.

“Here, Blake. Drink this. The sugar will help with the shaking,” Grey said as he walked into the room with a glass of fruit juice. He also placed a banana down on the table before me. “Hi Fiona,” he added when he looked up and found her on the sofa beside me.

“Hey Grey. Are all of the guys here?” she asked as she looked to me, and then all around like the others would pop out at her.

“No. Grey just called round before his shift tonight,” I explained as I gratefully took the glass from Grey and sipped the cool orange juice.

“Can I get you a drink, Fiona?” Grey offered.

“Water would be great, thanks.”

“I’ll grab it,” Luca said as he appeared from nowhere, then disappeared just as quickly.

“You okay?” Grey asked as he stood opposite me and looked me over.

“Better,” I agreed with a smile. “Fiona is going to order food and we’re g-going to watch some films. You should get some more sleep before your shift.” I didn’t want him to leave, but he really did need to sleep more before he worked a twelve hour shift that night. He studied me hard for a moment, then came to a decision.

“I’m going to run home and get my stuff for work, then I’ll sleep in my room here, just in case you need me.”

“You don’t need to.”

“I know that, but I want to. I’ll sleep better if I know you’re close by,” he added and I couldn’t help but smile at his sweet thought.

“Oh, that’s so cute,” Fiona swooned. “You’re so lucky,” She added and I completely agreed.

“Tiny?” The voice that instantly gave me comfort cut through the terror racing through me as I lay tied to that table in that cellar with those monsters. “Come on, Blake. Wake up for me now,” the voice continued, pulling me from the depths of utter horror. A hand on my shoulder, shaking me, finally ripped me free from the cellar completely.

My eyes snapped open as I took a greedy gasp for air. My panic abated quickly when I looked around urgently and found the familiar surroundings of the living room at Dad’s house, and Trent leant down over me. He had one hand on my shoulder and the other braced on the arm of the sofa.

“Hey, you’re okay. You’re safe at home,” he told me as he squeezed the hand on my shoulder reassuringly.

“Hi,” I gasped as I tried to calm myself down, hating the worry written all over Trent’s face. “Sorry. I…I’m alright.”

“Nightmare?” he asked as he released his grip on me and took a seat at my side.

“Yeah,” I nodded. “I must h-have fallen asleep,” I realised as I looked around me for Fiona. She had been curled up at the other end of the sofa, both of us watching some rom-com she had assured me I would love, last I remembered. “Where’s Fiona?”

“Not sure. I just got home and heard you moaning and crying in your sleep. Was she here?”

“Yeah. We were going to go to this shopping centre, but I w-wasn’t feeling up to it. We decided to watch a film instead.”

“Maybe she left. It is getting late,” he pointed out. I picked my phone up from the arm of the sofa and was shocked to see it was after six. I realised I had been asleep for hours. No wonder poor Fiona had left.

“Crap,” I sighed. “I’ll have to t-text her and apologise. She must think I’m s-so rude.”

“I’m sure she’ll understand,” he assured me. “Have you eaten? Dad’s gonna be home late. A meeting or something.” He stood and headed for the kitchen as he was speaking.

“I’m okay. Fiona ordered Italian for lunch and I ate way too much. Where’s Luca?” I asked as I got to my feet and looked around.
