"I really wish you would forgive me. I honestly want to apologize, but I don't know how to. I am afraid of your reaction or how you would look at me. I'm a changed person now, Jane, and I really wish you could see that."

"Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would one day become a stalker, but you've made me one. I will never give up on you, Jane. I'll try my best to defeat this feeling of fear and boldly walk up to you and ask for your forgiveness."

"I know you want to live a quiet life, and that I'll fight for. I'll let you see how much you've affected my life soon; just wait for me," he said and continued crying like a five-year-old boy denied his candy.

He kept on talking, but the words all came out incoherent.

"See? I told you not to worry about anything; he's only trying to avoid being seen in such a state," one of the guards, who was hiding a bit far from the parked vehicle holding a special kind of telescope, told the worried driver as he gave him the instrument.

"I was a bit scared," the driver replied after looking through the telescope.

"You don't need to be."

"Just leave whenever he tells you to; we will always be around to secure him when trouble arises," said the head guard.

Chapter 16:You Can’t Force Me

Jasper finished high school with high grades and attended one of the best colleges in New York, but that was after an argument with his dad.

"I want you to go to one of the best schools in England," the excited Valentino told his expressionless son.

"I don't want to do that," Jasper deadpanned, and the butler shifted uncomfortably as he swallowed the same with some maids. They could smell trouble as it wasn't far from them.

Squinting at his son to intimidate him, he asked, “Why don’t you want to do that?”

"I don't want to study in England because I simply don't want to. Is there anything hard to understand there?" he asked his father with a raised brow.

"HOW DARE YOU!?" Valentino shouted, standing in shock as he pointed to his stubborn son.

"Calm down, sir; please have some water," the butler went into full action after his initial flinch. He was startled by the sudden outburst, but Jasper kept calm as if nothing just happened.

“How dare you talk to your father in that manner?”

"That's because that father of mine is trying to boss my life around," Jasper replied.

Nodding his head several times while holding his shaky palms together to help him calm down, he asked, "If not England, choose another prestigious country you would love to go and study in."

"New York in America," Jasper answered in a blatant tone.

"IMPOSSIBLE!" The good-looking middle-aged man said with a smack on the table.

“That’s my final decision,” Jasper made his stance known and crossed his legs.

After several attempts to try to convince his son, Valentino said, "But all my friends made sure their children studied abroad."

"I am your child and not your son to any of your friends, and before you can address me as your child, I am a person of my own," the young man said with his eyes focused on the phone in front of him.

Not knowing how to convince his son, Valentino gave in and allowed him to continue his studies in NYC. He graduated with high grades in college, making his father, family, and himself proud.

"What do you mean, boy?" Valentino felt like he had suddenly developed hearing difficulty.

“I just said that I am not interested in running your companies or managing the family.”

Coughing violently in his seat, he shot Jasper a glare that, if his eyes were guns, his son would have been dead already.

"Please calm down, sir, so that your blood pressure won't go high," the ever-faithful butler said, almost close to tears, as he felt he, too, would have high blood pressure.

"You are my only son and the heir to all my inheritance, so what do you mean by this?" Valentino had to be really calm to understand if there was something wrong with his son.
