When Jasper found out about his father's action, he laughed out loud until he felt his eyes sting with tears.

“I knew he would do something like this,” he said and went to the little apartment given to him by the company he was working for. After he got employed, he opened another bank account with a new name, and that was where he saved the money he got from working in the company.

"How is he doing?" Even with the decision he made, Valentino still worried about the well-being of his son.

“From what we see, he's doing perfectly fine,” the butler replied.

Chuckling, Valentino asked, "So, he went to one of his friends for help?"

"No, sir," came the surprising reply from the butler.

“No?”

"I think he suspected that you would make such a move, so he had accepted the house and car given to him by the company beforehand and opened another bank account. So, he's living independently now." The butler said, watching Valentino's face twist in anger.

Chapter 17:Finally, He Decided

Though his father had stopped him from accessing his properties and money, that didn't mean he could not talk or request something from their workers.

As he took his bath in the bathroom, he heard his phone ring loudly twice. He tried to guess the caller as he didn't want to disrupt his nice time in the bathroom over some random call.

“Is it Mr. Valentino?” he asked with a pout as he scrubbed his back.

"No, it can't be; my dad can never call me by this time of the night after sending me out; he has too much pride to do something like that."

"Could it be Master Joel?" he asked again, applying more soap to his sponge as he nodded to the sound of his ringing tone.

“But why would Master Joel call me?”

"Could it be Melissa? Jude? Clifford? Miss Stanford? Stop it already, Jasper!" he yelled at himself playfully as he continued with his bath, enjoying the moment.

“This is far better than being in a suffocating environment,” he barely spoke when the phone started ringing again.

"Who could it be?" he huffed and continued with his bath slowly so that one would feel like after this particular bath, he wouldn't bathe again for a decade.

When he was through and about to dress up, the phone rang for the sixth time, making him dramatically roll his eyes. Picking up the phone, he looked at the unfamiliar number for a while before answering the call.

"Hello, Boss."

Recognizing the voice of his head guard, he set his lips in a thin line before saying, “Weren't you taught not to call someone more than twice? Did I take something so important away from you?”

"I'm sorry, Boss, but something important came up."

“What is it?” he asked in a serious tone as he turned serious at once.

"It's about Ms. Jane Frank."

At this, he became alert, ready to jump out the window at the slightest opportunity.

“What about her?” he asked in a tense voice.

"She's about to come to New York City."

“What! For what?”

"We hacked into her phone, and from the conversation with her friend, her purpose for coming is to look for a good job and be independent of her parents."

Pinching the bridge of his nose with a sigh, he asked, “When did she say she’ll be in NYC?”
