“Londyn, baby, come here,” he said, pulling out the bar stool for her. He patted the seat, and she stared at him, folding her arms over her chest. Grinning at her, he waved her over again, and she moved toward him, taking the seat.

“I’m not amused,” she frowned.

“I’m picking up on that,” he said with a serious expression. “Listen to me. We understand better than you might think what kind of shitshow Perez is running. It’s not our first rodeo. We are taking almost a hundred men.”

“I know, Ty, but do you understand that he has probably twice that many? That’s two hundred men, many of them just boys who want to be ‘cool’ like Cisco. Are you prepared to shoot at a kid?” she asked.

“You know that we don’t hurt kids, not if we don’t have to. But understand this, Londyn, if a kid shoots at me, I will shoot back. Holding that weapon doesn’t mean he’s exempt from retaliation. He made the decision, and he’ll have to live with it.”

“And what about the police? You guys are going in there with automatic weapons. What do you think the police are going to do?”

“We’re handling that, Londyn. I need you to trust me in this. We know what we’re doing, and we’re not taking this lightly. I just need you to do whatever Gaspar and the others tell you. You’re all going to be out at the Sugar Lodge, where you’ll be safe.”

She shook her head, and he pulled her against his chest. Laying her cheek on his shoulder, she wrapped her arms around his waist.

“I just found you,” she whispered. “I can’t lose you.”

“You’re not going to lose me. I will be back in twenty-four hours, maybe less. Then you and I can have a conversation about what our lives look like going forward.”

“What do you mean?” she asked, staring up at him. Bone laughed, shaking his head.

“What do I mean? Londyn, I’ve made it clear, honey. I want a life with you. If you don’t want to get married right away, that’s okay. If you can’t be intimate right now, that’s okay, too. I will wait forever for you. I just want to know that you’re in my life, in my house, and hopefully, one day in my bed.”

She stared at him, wondering if he could possibly mean all the things he’d said. His expression was sincere and earnest. All she saw was honesty and love.

“You would wait to have sex?” she whispered.

“I will wait forever if that’s what you need, Londyn. What happened wasn’t your fault. I know it doesn’t make it hurt any less for you. I know that those memories, those nightmares, may always be there. All I’m asking is for the chance to help you block some of them, make them less painful. Let me replace the pain with love, baby. That’s all I’m asking for.”

“Oh, Ty,” she cried, hugging his neck. “Why do you have to be so wonderful?” He chuckled, hugging her tightly.

“I’m not all that wonderful. Just ask my parents,” he grinned. “But if I’m wonderful at all, it’s because of you.”

She pulled back, staring up at those amazing eyes, the perfect mouth framed by that beautiful beard. Touching his face lightly, she leaned forward, pressing her lips to his. Ty stilled, not wanting to ruin this perfect moment of trust. When she stood from the stool, still pressing her lips to his, he rested his hands on her hips.

Londyn wrapped her arms around his neck, her fingers laced through his thick hair. Opening her mouth, she gasped for air, then let her tongue run along his bottom lip. Nibbling on that plump pillow, she could feel herself becoming excited. She pressed her mouth tighter against his, her tongue dancing with his strong muscular tongue.

For Ty, it was the most perfect moment of his life. It wasn’t just the kiss, which was spectacularly amazing and off the charts. It was the fact that she trusted him enough to let go. He knew she was driving herself to a fever pitch, her hips grinding against his own. She stilled, looking down between them.

“Oh, wow,” she whispered.

“I’m sorry. I couldn’t help it,” he said, shaking his head. “That was the best kiss I’ve ever had.”

“No, don’t be sorry,” she giggled. He frowned at her, wondering why she was giggling at his engorged cock. “I’m sorry. I’m laughing because I’m nervous and excited and, surprisingly, very turned on. I just, well, I just haven’t had a lot of experience, but I can tell you that I’ve never been with a man that big before.”

Bone grinned at her, nodding.

“Thank you, but I promise we’ll go slow. You’re made for me, Londyn.” He kissed her sweetly, then heard the sounds of men walking the paths toward the choppers.

“I guess that’s the signal that you have to go,” she said. He nodded at her.

“I’ll be fine, I promise. Stick with the others, and you’ll be good, too. Don’t leave this property. Don’t go anywhere without one of the men. I’ll be back before you know it.” Grabbing his pack, he walked out onto the porch with Londyn beside him. She kissed him once more.

“Try not to get any teeth knocked out,” she grinned. “You have a great smile, and I’d hate to have to replace it.” He could only laugh, bouncing down the steps to walk with HG, Hoot, and AJ.

She watched as they all walked down the paths, other wives coming out to wave goodbye, all with an overnight bag on their shoulders. Grabbing her own, she walked toward them and stood in silence.

“Does it get any easier?” she asked Tinley.
