I crossed my arms, fixing him with a stubborn look.

“If you don’t propose,” I said. “I’ll do it myself. I’ll get down on one knee right here, right now, and I’m not sure I’ll be able to get back up again but that’s a risk I’m willing to take.”

Rooster laughed softly and gently pried my arms open. His long, thin fingers encircled my wrists lightly.

“No, don’t do that. Come here.”

He guided my arms around his shoulders, my body pressed flush to his. Bumping his nose against mine, Rooster traced his thumb over my lower lip.

“I don’t have a ring,” he whispered. “I don’t have a speech planned yet either.”

I nuzzled against his cheek with a hum.

“Rooster, you dumbass. You already have my heart. It’s a formality at this point. I just want to hear you say it. I’ve waited long enough.”

He cupped my face in his hands, his gaze roaming over me for several long seconds.

“Louisa Pearl Reynolds, it would be an honor if you called me your husband. Will you marry me so we never have to be apart again?”

I didn’t even have the heart to chastise him for using my full name, even though I never liked it. I always preferred Lou Bodin instead. I closed my eyes and smiled, pressing a kiss to his lips.

“Yes.Finally.”

A wild chorus of cheers erupted from the Alpha Riders. Rooster locked his arms around my waist in a fierce hug.

“I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you, darlin’.”

I buried my face in Rooster’s neck.

At last, we were home.
