You didn’t like the color of my bra,Sebby?

I took a deep breath.

This felt like we were approaching a certain line here.

Flirting in texts.

Maybe gravitating towardsexting.

I moved the conversation elsewhere.

The apartment is fine. I’m at the hospital.

I thought about adding more…

Go have a bra party to yourself.

Pick another color bra.

I kept it simple.

April asked what hospital we were at.

I replied.

Then my attention went elsewhere when I heard Rome let out a squeal.

And I mean an actual squeal sound.

Like a teenage girl meeting her favorite singer.

When I looked and saw Atlas cradling his daughter in his massive right arm, then the smile on his face, it hit my heart hard.

Joe and Henry started to gently clap.

Hazel smiled ear to ear, tears filling her eyes.

Rome hurried toward Hazel for a hug.

I had to break out into a run to get to Rome at the last second and turn him away.

Then I looked at Atlas. “She’s perfect, huh?”

“More than perfect,” Atlas said. “She’s a fighter.”

“You guys didn’t have to come here for this,” Hazel said.

“Of course we did,” I said to her. “We’re family now.”

“You know, I have to say something,” Jago said. “I think it’s amazing throughout all of this how the milk stayed.”

Everyone looked at Jago.

There was silence.

“I wasn’t going to say it,” Rome said. “But…”

“Are you talking about my chest?” Hazel asked.
