“Sure.”

“Well, there’s a reason for that,” I said, trying to quell the nerves in my stomach. “I’ve been trying to avoid too much caffeine.”

“Why?” He looked concerned, as if he thought I might have some kind of secret medical condition.

Well, I supposed I did.

“Because it’s not good for growing babies,” I said in a rush. “Logan, I’m pregnant.”

I’d done a lot of thinking, imagining this moment a thousand times, and in the end, it seemed like the best thing to do was to rip the band aid off. I could see the shock in his expression, and for a long moment, that was the only reaction my words received.

“You’re pregnant? We’re going to have a…”

“A baby. Yeah.”

“Oh my God,” he practically leapt out of his chair with a smile on his face. Coming around to my side of the table, he dropped to his knees and placed a hand on my still flat belly. “Are you sure?”

“The doctor confirmed it.” I said, placing my hand over his. “I’m about six weeks along, so…”

“That time in the shower,” he said, his grin somehow stretching even wider. “When the condom broke.”

I laughed. “That’s my guess too.”

I’d almost forgotten about the incident, but then I missed my period, and it all came rushing back to me. I was going to have a baby. Logan was going to be a dad.

“So…you’re happy about this?” I had to ask him.

“Are you kidding? We’re going to have ababy. How could I be anything less than thrilled?”

I bit my lower lip. “Well, I’m thinking about that time I was sick and how relieved you were to be told that it wasn’t morning sickness.”

“I think we’ve both changed a lot in just a few short months. For me, an entire world of possibilities has opened up now that I’m not afraid of ending up like my parents. I can’t believe I’m going to be a dad.”

The look of wonder in his gorgeous blue eyes touched my heart, and I leaned forward and pressed a kiss to his lips. “I love you,” I said.

He smiled. “I love you too. And you know what? I feel like Grandpa is probably looking at us and pretty happy right about now, too.

I laughed, feeling like the luckiest girl alive. “I think you’re right.”

I gazed up at that brilliant sky and silently thanked the old man for interfering in his grandson’s love life. If he hadn’t, I never would have ended up married to my billionaire boss and the man of my dreams.
