Raven emerged a few seconds later wearing a long sleeve shirt so thin; it was practically see-through. Her nipples were pebbled and stood at attention, ripe for my mouth. The shorts she strutted in were practically indecent, barely covering the curve of her ass. If I wasn’t trying to hold out, I’d enjoy them a whole lot more.

“You playing dirty, Little Bird?”

She winked, pausing in the doorway of the twin’s room. “I’ll be just a moment. I want to check if Phoenix needs any more information. Rueben, would you mind combing my hair again when I return?”

He nodded, shifting his legs again, her grin growing as she entered the other room; the door opened a crack. It didn’t take long for another moan to be heard, and I bit my fist to keep mine at bay. I wouldn’t make it through the night at this rate.

It felt like forever before she returned, a comb and a bottle of lotion in her hand. She sat on the floor in front of Rueben, handing him the comb.

“What movie did you pick?” she asked, looking back at me. I blinked, glancing up at the screen. Shit, had we picked something? The first thing I saw, I clicked on.

“Um, how about this?”

Little Bird looked at me oddly before shrugging. “I haven’t seen it.”

The movie started playing, and I tried to relax, but my eyes kept getting pulled to Raven as Rueben brushed her hair. It was such a simple thing, but I felt immensely jealous. The love and care he took with each strand, the way he massaged her neck and scalp. It was clear how much he adored her in that simple action. I’d been banking on our connection and history to carry me through this relationship, but I could see now that I had been misguided.

Porter and Phoenix brought fun into her life, always making her laugh and smile. Rueben took care of her, providing comfort and doting on her. He made her feel like a princess. So, what would I add to the mix? Furrowing my brows, I tried to think about what I had to offer. I’d never been in a relationship before, so it wasn’t like I had much experience to draw from either.

I was so deep in thought that when the first moan sounded, I jumped, not expecting it. My eyes landed on Rueben sitting back and Little Bird rubbing lotion on her plump thighs. I licked my lips, having forgotten about the moan, too distracted by the sight of her delicious skin. What I wouldn’t give to have her thick thighs wrapped around my head.

The second moan caused me to jump again, but this time, I focused around the room, knowing it wasn’t the two beside me. When my eyes landed on the TV, I gulped. Fucking hell. I’d picked a sex movie. And not just a ‘roll around in the sheets and keep everything covered’ movie, but full-blown nudity.

A guy railed into a woman from behind, her tits swinging with each thrust as she clenched her fingers into the sheet. Her moans were breathy and loud, clearly enjoying what the guy was doing to her from behind. Raven had her head tilted, more like she was studying the angle of the position rather than being turned on by it. I glanced at Rueben, whose face I imagined mirrored my own. Confusion, slightly turned on, and wishing it was actually happening with the girl sitting on the floor.

When it ended, Little Bird stood and moved over to the side, pulling out a yoga mat from her bag. She started to bend and move into positions as she watched the movie, able to do each one from memory, apparently. Another sex scene came on, but Rueben and I were more interested in the girl doing yoga in her tiny shorts and a see-through shirt.

“How come yoga doesn’t look like that when you do it?” I asked Rueben. He snorted, shaking his head.

Little Bird bent over to touch her toes, and I about came in my pants. Holy fuck. She wasn’t wearing any underwear. Biting my fist, I shifted again, trying to find some relief from my hard as steel cock.

“I think she’s trying to kill us,” I whispered to Rueben. He nodded, his eyes fixed on her, taking in every inch. Neither of us watched the movie now, our entire focus on her as she twisted. When she bent backward, and her top slid up and exposed her boobs, Rueben couldn’t take it any longer.

Standing, he marched over, picked her up, and threw her over his shoulder as he made his way to our room. Little Bird giggled, clearly happy about the turn of events. Rueben stopped at the door, looking back at me and raising his eyebrow. I knew what he was saying without any words.

“You coming? Don’t be a tool and keep away just to win a stupid game.”

Nodding that I understood, I motioned for him to go on. I needed a moment to myself before I stepped in there. The reality was, I knew once I crossed that line with Raven, my little bird, my whole heart would belong to her.

Turning off the TV, I stood up from the couch, adjusting my erection as I walked around and picked up things. The guys weren’t messy, but I needed everything in its place before I could go to sleep. I’d accepted it as a trauma response to my past, the time I’d spent homeless and needed to be able to move at a second’s notice. As well as foster care and the group home. If you didn’t keep your things safe, they would be taken. So, now, I ensured we were always tidy and ready to go if we needed to make a quick escape.

When there wasn’t anything left, I checked all the doors and windows, despite knowing that Rueben had done it earlier the second Raven returned home. Sighing, I rubbed the back of my neck, the tiny hairs soothing my nerves.

“Time to quit delaying and man up, asshole,” I mumbled to myself. “She’s Little Bird. She’s not going to hurt you.”

With one more breath, I turned off all the lights and headed for my bedroom. The moans outside the door had me pausing. I gripped my fingers on the doorframe, taking in a deep breath.

“You care that much about winning?”

I jumped, spinning around. Phoenix stood at his door, his face solemn as he watched me. His eyes searched mine, looking for something.

“What?” I croaked, clearing my throat.

“I know it started as something fun, or at least it seemed that way. But you’ve been holding yourself back all day. Why?”

I started to protest, but Phoenix cut me off with a glance. Deflating, I dropped my head, rubbing my neck. “I was scared, okay? I had a moment where I feared I wouldn’t be good enough, or she’d realize I wasn’t the version of the boy she remembered.”

“That’s stupid, and you know it.”
