“Oh.”

“No man is an island.”

“Me. I’m an island. I figure shit out on my own. Always have.”

Savage shrugged. “You mind if I smoke?”

“No. I don’t mind.”

Savage lit up a joint and took a drag. He offered it to me, but I shook my head.

“He got offended,” I finally said.

“About what?”

“I left his bed. Went back to my own room after we were…finished. Which doesn’t make any sense because we agreed to be together, but only while I’m staying at the clubhouse. By the way, I’ve never had to throw myself so obviously at a man to get him to have sex with me. I should be offended, yet I’m not.”

“I really don’t think you had to do that much convincing,” Savage said with a wry grin. “If he hadn’t been interested, he’d have let you know.”

I drank some of my lukewarm coffee. “I don’t get it, Savage. First, he uses the excuse I’m too young. But then he does a one-eighty almost immediately and we get together—but only under the parameters that it ends when I move out of the clubhouse. And then he gets offended that I left his room.”

“Maybe he likes to spoon.”

“Maybe you’re not helpful,” I groused.

“Maybe you hurt his feelings when you left.”

I frowned. “I hurthisfeelings?”

“It may come as a surprise to you, but men have feelings too.”

“I know they have feelings,” I snapped. “I just didn’t think I’d hurthis. He can barely stand me half the time.”

“You know the only way to get to the bottom of this, right?” Savage asked.

“What?”

“Talk. To. Him.”

“What, like now?”

“Might as well. You guys are going to be around each other quite a bit, what with him being your protector. My advice? Wake him up with a blow job. He’ll quickly forget his hurt feelings.”

“I need girlfriends,” I muttered.

“You’re welcome,” he said, taking another drag of his joint.

I headed back inside and left my coffee cup in the sink. Then I made my way to Viper’s room.

I was suddenly feeling nervous. Should I knock? Or just walk in?

This was stupid. The man had seen me naked. He’d been inside of me not even twelve hours ago.

I wasn’t shy, and I didn’t like bowing down to anyone.

I quietly turned the knob and poked my head into his room.

Viper was a bed hog, and he slept diagonally. He looked like a naked, hulking beast with a gloriously muscled and tattooed back.
