Is there a new hot celebrity couple on the rise?

Lisa’s face flushed further, and she wondered if Langston had seen the news. Her phone chirped again, bringing her thoughts from her reverie. She scrolled up to it, and this time it was Langston.

How’s my beautiful girl today?

Her heart pitter-pattered behind her breastbone.

She’s good. How’s my handsome guy?

Having a dilemma.

What’s the dilemma?

Her phone buzzed, and Langston’s face filled her screen when he called.

Damn, he’s sexy, she thought as she answered. “Hey!”

“Hey, you.”

“What’s going on with you? What’s your dilemma?”

“I’m supposed to pick up a cake for my mother’s and her friend’s anniversary, but the place I always order from is booked.”

“When do you need the cake?”

“Now.”

Lisa laughed. “You thought you could get a cake baked from scratch instantly?”

“You make it sound impossible.”

“Not impossible, but most bakeries wouldn’t be able to accommodate such a request.”

“Hmmmm.”

“Wait…you’ve done these last-minute requests before, haven’t you?”

“I’m a very nice tipper.”

Lisa laughed. “It’s no wonder you’re expecting a miracle. But maybe I’m a miracle worker.”

“What do you mean?”

“What kind of cake does your mother want?”

“I was going to surprise her.”

“Ah. Okay. Well, I make a fierce strawberry shortcake. I can bake one in a few hours if you want one from scratch.”

“You can bake a cake from scratch in a few hours?”

“I said it, and I meant it.”

He laughed. “Okay, Little Debbie.”

Lisa shrieked and shook her head. “Not Little Debbie!”

Langston chuckled as his voice grew tender and inviting. “That’s a lot to ask of you. I don’t know what to say, Lisa.”
