We all turn to see Cam, wearing khaki Chinos and a white Henley, teamed with a pink and blue feather boa wrapped around his neck, including a party hat with the words ‘celebrate’ in glitter written across the top.

So he knows too.

Everyone stops to look at him as he throws his hands in the air but then looks down at us all and huffs. “They’re not here yet?”

Paisley jumps up from her seat with the brightest smile on her face. “Cam! What are you doing here? You never said you were flying down from New York.”

She races up the stairs, almost tackling Cam into submission as she wraps her arms around him so damn tight. He chuckles while holding her. They haven’t seen each other since Paisley moved back to New Orleans after living with Cam in New York for a year and a half. He helped her raise Jackson while hiding the fact she’d had him from Lucas.

It’s a whole thing.

But Cam was there for her, and their relationship grew super strong over that time.

“I missed you, too, Piña Colada.”

Lucas bursts out laughing as Paisley shakes her head. “Still trying to find the right nickname for me?”

Cam shrugs. “Iwillfind the right one. We will know when I hit it. Now, where’s my little man? Uncle Cam has missed him,” he says, pushing past Paisley and rushing down the stairs toward Lucas, his feather boas blowing in the breeze. As he reaches him, Jackson instantly raises his arms for Cam to take him.

Cam lifts Jackson into his arms and he cradles him in a tight embrace. “Oh, I’ve missed you, you smelly little thing.”

Paisley groans. “I told you he’s gonna get a complex if you keep calling him smelly.”

Cam scrunches his face. “It will toughen him up. You gotta be big and strong in this harsh world, don’t we, Mr. Smelly Bum?” Cam lifts Jackson’s shirt and blows raspberries on his stomach, which makes Jackson burst into a fit of giggles.

“Hey, Cam, what’s with the boas and hat, man?” Dane asks.

Cam lifts his head from Jackson’s stomach, his eyes wide like a deer caught in the headlights. “Ahh… let’s wait for Bri-Bri and Nash to arrive.”

Paisley gasps. “You know! You know what they’re going to tell us.”

Cam raises his hands. “In my defense, Brianna wanted me to fly down but wouldn’t give me a reason, so I forced it from her. But, my lips are sealed. It’s their news to tell.”

Everyone sits taller. “Oh my God, I can’t believe Brianna is keeping something from me. Blake, do you know too?” Paisley snaps.

Everyone turns to look at me, including Zoey, and I roll my shoulders, trying to hold back my grin, but Zoey gasps. “I know that grin.Youknow!”

Paisley huffs, folding her arms over her chest. “This isbullshit! How do you guys know, and I don’t?”

Lucas chuckles. “It’s gonna be okay, Paise. You’ll find out soon enough.”

“Find outwhat… soon enough?” Nash asks as he and Brianna begin walking down the stairs.

We all turn to them, and Paisley sighs. “Bri, I thought I was your friend.”

Lucas rolls his eyes. “Sorry, Brianna, Paisley is acting a bit dramatic tonight.”

Brianna glances over to where Cam is sitting, and then she flicks her eyes across to me. “Did they tell you?” Brianna asks, and Paisley huffs.

“No, they won’t tell me, but you should have. What’s going on, Brianna?”

Nash pulls Brianna to him, both of them smiling wide. “Okay, we gathered you all here tonight because Brianna and I have some exciting news to share,” Nash states.

“We already gathered that part, Nash. Just spit it out,” Dane quips.

“Wait… where’s Cade? He should be here for this,” Bri chimes, and everyone groans.
