“When are we meeting up?”

Never.

“Not tonight,” I answered as I pulled up to the gate at my house and hit the button to open it.

“What are you going to do, swim all night?”

“And why do you care?” Parking my car, I stepped out and rounded the hood to the front door.

“I thought we were going to Drexler’s party.” He practically whined.

“Can’t you go without me?”

“Of course we can, but you were the one who wanted to go earlier today.” I could practically hear his eyes rolling into the back of his head.

“Am I not allowed to change my mind?” God having friends could be draining.

“Is this because of that girl?”

I was ready to hang up on him.

“No, it’s the fact that someone took it upon themselves to attack Payton.”

“So that’s her name,” he hummed. “And why do we care? It’s less blood on our hands.”

Sitting down at the top of the stairs, I clenched my phone until I heard it creak. “I didn’t give anyone permission to hurt her.”

Linc cleared his throat. “What are your plans for little Miss Payton?”

“I haven’t decided yet, but she’s mine to do what I want with. Not anyone else’s,” I growled into the phone.

“Okay,” Linc laughed. “I promise I’ll keep my hands to myself and enjoy the show until you’re finished with her.”

He was right. I would be finished with Payton sooner rather than later. I didn’t have the patience, nor did I care to dedicate my time to some new bitch who thought she was better than everyone else.

“If she was going to be at the party tonight, would you go?” He asked with amusement lacing his tone. I could just imagine the smug smirk on his face. If he was standing in front of me, I would have punched it right off him.

“Why are you wasting my time?” I knew she wouldn’t be at the party. She knew no one at our school. Or so she said.

Lincoln laughed manically. It was to the point that I was going to hang up on him. “I’ll get her there myself.”

I didn’t want him anywhere near Payton, but I wasn’t going to voice that. Linc didn’t need any more ammunition than he already had. “How are you going to do that?”

“Why don’t you leave that up to me? Now, are you going to come or are you going to sit at home?”

“Fine, I’ll come, but it better be worth it.” Half the time Drexler threw the worst parties. He invited us over and decided it was going to be a guy only night without telling us. I rolled my eyes just thinking about it. If he pulled that stunt tonight, I’d rip his balls off and make him eat them.

“Your girl will be there.”

“She’s not my girl. I just want to have some fun with her.”

“Whatever you say, dude. I’ll see you in thirty.”

Thirty minutes was barely enough time to shower, get dressed, and drive out of town to Drexler’s house. I was relieved to find a dozen other cars there when I arrived. The one car I didn’t see was Lincoln’s. If he didn’t show up, he’d be finding himself with at least a broken leg. Maybe two, depending on how I was feeling.

I spotted Kai and Leo the moment I opened the front door. The house was already filled with smoke from everyone vaping and smoking weed. My feet stuck to the floor as I made my way to them. I didn’t hide my grimace as I slapped them on the backs.

“Why are we here again?”
