Dante smiled, but this time, it wasn’t one of his annoying smirks. Instead, his eyes were showing deep affection, and a hint of pity for her helplessness. He had done it on purpose. Waiting until she was stuck in this enclosed space, between four walls, to drop this bomb on her. She couldn’t even run anywhere!

She felt stuck against the elevator wall, forced to face the Tiger and his cunning ways. Dante stepped forward, making things even worse. Her heartbeat was going insanely fast and out of control. Couldn’t they get to Loir’s floor already? Why was it so slow today?

He approached her, and gently pulled her chin up with his fingers.

“I love you,” he repeated.

“S-s-stop it!” she mumbled, blushing and horrified.

However, before she could protest more, Dante sealed her lips with a kiss. Eden felt like she was melting under him, her body torn between fire and ice. What was he doing to her? What was wrong with her? She loved it. She loved his kisses, the way his hands moved on her body, all of her body. She loved his deep voice, and the way his golden eyes made her feel like his prey every time he glanced her way. She loved the way he spoke, even his terrible habits of mocking her, and the way he lied, killed, and threatened with a straight face. Most of all, she loved how Dante was with her. He made her feel like she was the one special person in the universe of a man that cared for no one.

That’s why she didn’t push him away and didn’t even think about doing so. She loved his kiss, enough to answer passionately and get lost in it. She grabbed the hair at his nape, tightening her grasp and unwilling to let go. She didn’t give a damn about wrinkling his shirt or making a mess of her makeup. She just wanted him. For a while, it was just the two of them, kissing wildly, barely holding off from undressing each other again. Dante had a hand on her butt, and the other in a fist clenched against the elevator wall. It was as if each time they kissed, things got a bit hotter, yet also a bit more serious between them. She could feel that connection between them, a special bond so strong she could almost see it.

When the elevator finally stopped, and they both parted, Eden was still blushing, out of breath, and glaring at him. Dante chuckled, grabbing her chin.

“You’re cute when you’re flustered.”

“You need to stop doing that...” she muttered.

“I don’t know. You haven’t answered me yet.”

Eden got even redder if that was possible. Of course, he expected an answer to his blunt confession... She couldn’t even bear to look into his singular golden eyes right now. She awkwardly tried to gulp down her saliva, her eyes going past his shoulders, glancing at the outside of the elevator. Unfortunately for her, Dante knew better. One of his hands on her cheek, the other against her butt, there was nowhere to run off to this time... Eden looked down, trying to breathe instead of hyperventilate.

“I, uh...”

He chuckled and leaned forward to kiss her cheek. Eden knew he was teasing her on purpose, but this was torture... Could she call out to Loir now, or could someone appear? Even the puppies freely ran out while she remained trapped there! She took another deep breath, staring at the ceiling while Dante’s lips went down her jawline.

“I...”

Eden was fighting against ten years of self-control, fears, and antisocial mechanisms to get those words out of her throat. It was hard, probably the hardest thing she had ever tried to do. She could do a hundred hacks, get caught in a crossfire, and meet with hitmen, but she couldn’t say a single sentence. She knew how ridiculous it was, but she just couldn’t calm her poor heart enough to take off the thick armor around it... Dante seemed to be barely listening anymore, which annoyed her a little. He found kissing her skin more interesting than what she was struggling to say. She rolled her eyes.

“I l-love you... too.”

He froze, which made Eden jump a bit. Dante suddenly pulled back, staring at her with a shocked expression.

“W-what?!”

“...I didn’t think you’d say it.”

Eden pouted, a bit annoyed. He really didn’t believe she could say it? Admittedly, she didn’t think she could either until seconds ago, but it still was a bit hurtful to hear that... Yet, to her surprise, his expression suddenly changed into a wide smile, making her ten times more shy. He quickly turned around, pressing a button, and the elevator made a ringing sound, the doors closing. Eden gasped in shock. Did he just lock the elevator on purpose?

“Dante!” she exclaimed.

“Just a minute.”

His lips kissed her again, a bit greedier this time. Eden moaned without thinking, feeling her body press against the elevator wall... She tried to fight him a bit, but Dante’s greed was overwhelming her. How could he trigger her senses so easily each time? She quickly stopped resisting to wrap her arms around his neck, answering his kiss with a fire growing in her lower stomach...

“Beep-beep! Hello, this is the Kitty Rescue Service!” Loir’s voice suddenly resonated around them. “Excuse me, I have a red alert for two naughty kitties locked in an elevator! Beep-beep!”

“Dante...” Eden groaned.

“Ignore him.”

Eden chuckled, and they resumed their kissing, but she had a feeling the hacker was not going to give up just like that...

“Beep-beep!” he shouted. “I heard that, you bad kitties! We’re on code red, I repeat, this is a code red!”

Suddenly, the elevator was filled with loud meowing sounds. If it was possible to ignore it for a few seconds, it quickly got annoying enough to kill all the sexual tension in the elevator. Dante groaned, and laid his face on her shoulder, slapping the elevator wall angrily. Eden giggled, somehow a bit amused that the only person able to get on Dante’s nerves and kill his sex drive was her crazy partner... She hugged him, leaving a quick kiss on his cheek.
