“She’s welcome to come here. It’s a little unusual, but I happen to enjoy breaking up the monotony of my day,” Dr Zane grins.

“Congratulations, Lennon,” Tori says, elbowing the guys out of the way to hug me tightly.

I can’t believe I missed so much of my pregnancy, but I’m so happy the baby is okay. I can have a happy, healthy baby, one that was conceived in love.

“Oh! Before you go, Dr. Zane. Is it normal that I’m not showing if I’m so far along?” I ask. There’s not even a tiny bump, my stomach is flat as a washboard.

Dr. Zane nods. “Yes. Often, women start to show physical signs of pregnancy later with their first child. Are you having any other symptoms or issues?” she asks.

“I’m super emotional, but I suppose it makes sense with being pregnant and so much happening in my personal life. I’m also easily tired,” I report.

“All normal. I would suggest taking naps when you’re tired if you can. Eat healthy, preferably small meals throughout the day. It’ll help with any nausea you may be prone to,” Dr. Zane explains.

Tori wrinkles her nose and Greg rubs her back with a small smirk.

“I had the worst morning sickness with my pregnancies. If you have any issues, though, Mama Rodriguez is very helpful to have around. Her tea helped me so much,” Tori gushes.

Greg, Tori, and Dr. Zane leave the room so I can dress. Roark helps me into my leggings, and Turner watches carefully for any discomfort.

“Are you all okay with this?” I ask once I’m standing.

Derek grins. “Orion was right earlier. You were sleeping, but he made a comment that any child of yours, was all of ours. That’s how I feel as well. I don’t care who the biological father is, I’ll love and protect this baby like it’s my own,” he vows.

“Aye,” Roark and Turner growl, and Orion snorts.

“Are they always so in tune with each other?” he whispers, and Turner punches his shoulder.

I wait for a fight to break out, but Orion just rolls his eyes.

“Let’s go home,” I yawn. “I think I need a shower and a nap in that order. And then, I need to come clean to my sister.”

Turner chuckles. “Good luck, she’s going to be excited and pissed she’s the last to know,” he tells me.

Oh, I know. I’m excited to tell her, but also bracing for the yelling.

LENNON

Two days later, I kiss the guys as I leave to go to my hair appointment. It may seem strange to be excited about such a mundane thing, but my hair is a huge reminder of my mother. My individuality was stripped from me piece by piece at Hidden Hills, and I want to take it back.

And yet… I know I’m not the same person that I was before, so some things will have to change. The guys told me they wanted to be surprised and didn’t want to see what color I decided on.

Tori and Tesa chat on my front porch as they wait for me.

“Did you decide what you wanted to do for your hair?” Tori asks with a smile.

The weather is frigid today, and I shiver in my jacket.

“I did, I think I want to cut it a little too,” I tell her as we walk down the stairs towards Tori’s SUV.

“Ooh, that’ll be fun. Short, or are you thinking more about layers?” she asks curiously.

“Layers, but keeping length,” I explain, pulling out my phone to show her some photos. “And then… I want to do a dark purple with blue streaked through. I’ve had the same shade of hair for a long damn time, and the change will be fun.”

Getting into the car, Tori starts the engine with a nod. “The salon closed to take us, so we won’t have any distractions,” she tells me. “It’s in a fun part of Georgetown, and it usually has a lot of foot traffic. However, Aaron said that he didn’t want to work the last four days of this week, so we’re his only clients until the new year.”

“It was so nice of them to take me,” I gush. “I know the holidays are either insanely hard to get an appointment, or no one wants to work during them.”
