“Anyway, what I was going to say is, I think you might already have feelings for Logan. I think he does too. I was watching you both at the wedding, and it’s clear you like each other a lot. More than just sex. I also think—don’t shoot me—a few of the others noticed,” Harper admitted.

Emma lifted her head.

Then flopped back down.

She needed a coffee before deciding. But she would give him an answer before they flew back to Manhattan.

––––––––

EMMA DRAINED THE LASTof the coffee and considered a second cup, then decided against it. She watched the girls swimming in the pool while Olivia stood nearby, keeping an eye on them.

“Aren’t you eating?” Kristen asked. “This bacon is delicious.”

“My bacon, you mean.” Jackson stole a piece back off her plate.

“Oy.” She laughed. “I stole that fair and square.”

Emma’s bags were packed, and she was stalling before starting brunch, as she’d promised Logan they’d eat together.

Perhaps he’d gone back upstairs?

“I’ll get a plate in a minute.” Emma slid her mobile into her pocket and walked back inside the house to look for him.

God, was she going to keep seeing him?

This was nuts.

Even the thought of seeing him after a few hours apart this morning gave her butterflies.

Don’t fall in love with him.

Emma remembered Logan had said he was using the downstairs office, so she headed in that direction, when she heard Daniel and Logan speaking.

Something made her slow.

Perhaps it was the tone in Logan’s voice, but looking back one day, Emma would be pleased she did. Because what she was about to hear was going to shatter the bubble she’d been living in the past few days.

And lead to events she could never imagine as she leaned against the wall.
