“Call him and tell him to not come because your new boyfriend is coming to help you,” I laughed.
She chuckled and sighed heavily. “I’m not calling him again, Olive. Just call me when you are done at the gym, and I’ll let you know what is going on. Maybe some dashing prince will stop and help me.”
“Well,” I laughed, “we can all dream, girlfriend. Let me get in this gym, and I’ll call you back.”
“Later,” she called.
I ended the call and opened my door.
Faye was always saying she was waiting for her prince charming to come and rescue her, but it hadn’t happened yet.
Hell, did that even happen anymore? It seemed like these days you needed to save yourself; otherwise, you’ll be waiting forever.
I grabbed my keys to the gym and jogged to the back door.
“Why the hell does Faye wait till late to clean the gym,” I mumbled. When it was my day to clean it, I did it while Rocky was in school; that way, I wasn’t traipsing through the dark to scrub toilets and wipe down dumbbells.
I stabbed the key into the lock and twisted the handle.
A loud click sounded above me, and I cocked my head to the side.
The door exploded, and everything went black.
