My eyes almost jump out of my head, and the air inside my lungs feels trapped. What the fuck is happening?

“How the fuck do you expect me to do that? Huh?” Lucky shouts.

“Show me how well you’ve learned to share, and maybe I’ll trust your word.”

“Oh, this issooonot happening!” I stumble back, throwing my hands in the air.

“Fuck off, man. You can’t expect me to dothatwithyou. Hell no!” Lucky roars. “Angel, let’s go. We’re outta here. He’s fucking lost his mind.” Lucky heads to the door, and as I start to follow Gabe quickly steps in front of me, shaking his head.

“So you don’t really get it.” Gabe smirks. He can’t possibly be serious.

“What I get is that you’re fucked up in the head. You should get some therapy or something.” Lucky snaps.

“You’re probably right, so if you wanna leave then go, but Angel stays. At least until we find out if I’m the father.”

“What?” I yell. He’s certifiable.

“The fuck she is,” Lucky says, storming over to me. “Angel, let’s go.”

“Don’t fight me on this, kid. You made your choice, now I’m making mine. She’ll be safer with me anyway.” He just had to rub salt in the wound.

Lucky’s body trembles with anger. His eyes drop to mine. “Why’d you put me in this situation?”

“I’m sorry, Luck,” I say, turning away from him to Gabe. “We didn’t come to fight, and I definitely didn’t come so you could throw down ultimatums. If the baby is yours, the guys will deal with it or they won’t, but either way, you can’t force Lucky to watch me fuck you. And besides that, the two of you would break my vagina. Thanks but no thanks.” Gabe’s eyes go wide as he looks at Lucky with a smirk forming on his lips.

“It’s not funny, Gabe. My pussy, my rules, and I say no.” How did we get so far off base here? He went from being a possessive dick to wanting a three-way to prove a point. He’s lost it.

I roll my eyes as the door opens. Zeke steps through with the phone to his ear. “Sorry boss, but it’s urgent.” His eyes drop from Gabe and land on me as my breath is once again trapped in my lungs.

“Angel, have you heard from your mom?” Zeke asks, and my heart sinks as I run to the trash to throw up this morning’s breakfast.

This can’t be happening. Not my mom.

Chapter fifteen

Angel

My head is spinning, and I’m vaguely aware of Lucky’s hand on my back. Gabriel is in the front room cursing and barking orders at Zeke and Cain.

Lucky holds out a cup of water for me to take as I wipe my mouth with a towel laying on the countertop.

“When does this nightmare end?” I cry out, taking the glass from his hand, and swirling the contents in my mouth before spitting it out into the sink.

“It ends now,” Gabe roars, stepping into the kitchen.

“Brenda just stopped by the house on her way to work yesterday,” Lucky says, scrubbing a hand over his face.

Gabe’s eyes zigzag between the two of us, his face set in stone. “Well, Cruz said she never made it there. They were supposed to meet up after her shift this morning and she never showed up, so he went looking for her.”

“Oh my god, I was supposed to call her when I woke up, and I never did,” I sob, tears running down my face. I quickly wipe them away. “This is King, right? I mean it has to be.”

Lucky cocks his head at me. “We don’t know anything. I’m sure she’s fine.”

“Are you delusional, kid? Anything bad that happens in this town has King’s name written all over it.” Anger pours out of him as he turns and punches the wall.

“Did that help? I feel like I need to punch something,” I ramble nervously. King, I want to punch King in his stupid fucking face. “If he touches a hair on her head, I’m going to kill him with my bare fucking hands.” Lucky and Gabe turn to stare at me blankly.

Gabe narrows his eyes on me as he pulls out a chair and points to it. “You aren’t doing anything with your pregnant ass except sitting down. I’ll handle this,” he orders. I stand my ground, crossing my arms while rolling my eyes.
