“Lover?” I say, eyes wide. Who told them?

“He loves Hawaiian shirts, doesn’t he?” Wyatt says, shrugging.

I take a deep breath, relaxing a little. My sex life is not a topic my brothers and I ever go near. They don’t want to see me cry, but the amount they want to know about my sex life is in the negative numbers.

“And we wanted to see if you’re still mad at us,” Theo says.

I sigh, sagging into Wyatt. “No, I’m not mad. I’ve seen you since that conversation about the lodge—have I acted mad?”

“You’ve been quieter than usual,” Sutton says.

“I’ve been thinking about what you said and wondering why I’ve had such a hard time admitting what I want.” I watch the families lining up to get their pictures taken with Albert. “But today’s not the day to figure it out.”

Wyatt chuckles and his arm tightens around me. “Just know we’re here when you’re ready to.”

Callum mutters something in agreement on the other side of me.

“Thanks, guys. Where’s Owen?” I look around Sutton, who’s walking behind us with Theo.

My nephew is nowhere in sight and he’s usually the first one to hug me.

Sutton points at Owen running around with a couple of his buddies, their baskets piled high with plastic eggs.

“We didn’t see you when we first got here, so he went ahead and got started. Hopefully this will get his mind off of getting a dog for more than two seconds. He won’t stop…thanks a lot.” He makes a gritted-teeth face, and I lift my hands up, laughing.

“You’re welcome. Get the boy a dog.” I bump Wyatt with my hip. “You need one too…and Grinny. Everyone needs a pet or two in their life.”

“When I get home from work, I don’t want to take care of anyone or anything else,” Wyatt says.

“Fair enough. I suppose you’re off the hook since you do have one of the most selfless jobs on the planet.”

“I don’t know, some say being a judge requires being selfless,” Sutton says.

“Who says that exactly?” Theo asks, lifting an eyebrow.

“Yeah, no one,” Wyatt says. “No one has ever said that.”

We all laugh and Sutton grumbles about us all being in on the puppy treaty with Owen.

We reach the door of the lodge and Callum opens the door, holding out his arm for me to go first. “Thanks, Cal.”

He grins and then follows me inside, cutting off the rest of my brothers.

“Rude,” Theo pipes up. “Callum doesn’t have a pet or the most selfless job on the planet—why aren’t you hounding him?”

“Callum has dozens of pets.” I turn back and wait for them to all get inside.

“Doesn’t count if they don’t live in the house,” Theo says, folding his arms over his chest like he really cares about this.

“Totally counts,” Callum says. “Maybe more so since I have to go out in the freezing elements just to feed them.”

I hold out my hand toward Callum and nod at Theo likesee?

“And Delphine has started sneaking in the house when she can,” Callum adds. “She’s got Irene trying it now too, but Irene’s not as smart about it.”

“Oh shit,” Wyatt says, chuckling. “That can’t be good.”

Most people never know when Callum is joking or not and usually assume he’s angry based on his expression, but when it comes to his cows and goats, he’s the biggest softie.
