His presence grew nearer and a feral animalistic urge overwhelmed her, crying out in triumph as he tasted the blood of her enemies.
“Hyde!”
Her vision focusing. Her breath quickening. An energy surged through her body, swirling like a shadow around the dark magic that rose to the call of power in the air.
“Look at her eyes” Simone’s voice was awed.
“It is too late.” Draven’s face twisted with insanity as he took the knife in his hand. “Tonight I will eat your heart. Tomorrow I will kill the wolf,”
Raising the knife high, the blade glinting in the moon’s light.
“You are mine!”
CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE
He was consumed bya whirlwind of violence coursing through his entire body. His beast, twice his normal size, radiating a dark menace, howling a challenge as he leapt forward. Claws shredding through a vampire that dared turn, trying to stop him.
Landing near the altar in a spray of blood, Hyde drank in the demonic energy.
So close to summoning whatever hell lord they worshiped. His body flooding with both the full energy of the moon and the ever flowing infernal power that circled the ritual room.
Nothing like him had ever existed before.
His red glare finding Draven, he took a step forward, even as acolytes drew the vampire king away from the altar.
“Take him down” the command was almost drowned out by Talia’s cry of denial. Her voice ringing in his ears. He almost missed Ghost stepping forward.
Her eyes were blank as the bridesmaid dress she was wearing ripped and tore. Her beast breaking through her human form. Its silver grey fur rippling out over every inch of her body. The tatters of the gown falling to the ground.
“I must finish the ritual” Dravens protest loud in his ears as Ghost moved for him.
What the fuck was she doing here?
His beast, confused by her appearance, barely throwing itself backwards avoiding her first deadly swipe. Then her second. Each blow meant to cripple him.
He was stronger, faster. She had to hurt him fast. Bring him low. So she could take out his throat. Just as he had trained her to do since she was a child.
