“I have no problem killing anyone who tries to help you. I will burn this hotel to the ground, with everyone in it, if you give me even one reason to not trust you.”

Stepping away from her, Hyde shook his head at himself. What the fuck had he been thinking? He had kissed her, and he kissed nobody.

But worse still, for those few precious moments, he had forgotten who she belonged to. She wasn’t his to take. Yet every single fiber of his being wanted him to do just that. Claim what wasn’t his.

Hell, his wolf was still demanding more of her. Craving more than just a taste.

This fucking job was going to get him killed.

Opening the door, he glared at the woman from the bar. With a slight nervous swallow, she motioned towards the tray, meeting his gaze.

He waved her through the door to the table. Moving into the room, her eyes widening a little as Talia tucked the handcuff into the generous sleeve of the robe.

“Just leave it on the table” pulling out a hundred-dollar bill from his wallet, he waited for her to turn back to him.

The dark-haired woman pushed her glasses back up her nose as she placed the food down.

“Its been a while since we had anyone in the honeymoon suite,” placing both plates on the table. The barmaid met Talia’s eyes.

“Do you ... need help with anything else?”

For a moment, Talia hesitated. Her eyes glanced at his narrowing gaze before dropping to look back down. She shook her head.

“No, thankyou” sitting at the table, Talia reached for the food. The flash of handcuff bracelet under her sleeve glinting in the light.

“For your trouble,” handing the woman a hundred-dollar bill, Hyde opened the door.

“Well,” looking back at Talia, the bar maid stepped out, “we are only a phone call away, if you need help with anything,”

“That’s very kind of you” closing the door in her face, Hyde turned. Leaning against the door, he eyed her as she ate. Her hands were shaking as she cut the chicken breast. Her face adverted away from him. As she tried to ignore his frown.

He needed to get a grip. He couldn’t afford to fuck this job up. Ryder’s life depended on him getting this girl to his master. And that’s what was important. Not the fact that he had scared her, or hurt her feelings.

She should be scared. And Draven would do more than hurt her feelings if she ever upset him.

He approached the leather bag that Thorn had brought up to the room and deftly retrieved the medical bag. Time to be the bad guy again. He had to stay focused. Feminine wiles or not. He pulled a chair up next to her at the table and sat down. He ignored his plate of food as he laid out the items.

Her hands stilling. Knife and fork both gripped tighter as she stared at the syringe.

“You don’t have to do that,”

He picked up the small bottle, piercing the lid easily. Drawing the clear fluid up into the needle with a steady hand.

“Yes Princess, I do,” tapping it to clear any air bubbles.

There was no way he was going to allow the drug effects to wear off. Even a weak witch was dangerous, and he suspected Talia was far from weak in any aspect of her life.

He smirked as he watched her fingers caress the knife, his eyes meeting hers.

“are you going to stab me with your dinner knife?”

“It... is silver,”

He leaned back in his chair and held the syringe between his fingers, letting it rest on his knee. His smirk becoming a smile. “So is the fork. If you hit an artery, you might even have a chance. “

Watching her entire body tense. Her feet sliding under the chair, muscles getting ready. Hyde released his breath slowly.

His heart actually speeding up as his wolf growled deep in his mind. She was stunning. Fearless.
