Not that I would ever ask Remi for a dime.

His career and his money was his.

The same for me.

Riff woke up shortly after I did.

So my peace and clarity was gone.

“Morning,” I called out. “Sorry about last night. I was tired.”

“I saw that.”

Riff walked to the kitchen.

I tilted my head.

First off, he wore a shirt.

Weird.

Second off, he had on pants.

Even weirder.

Nomorning woodpoking out.

No temptation in his eyes.

Even though it was only my second morning at his place, I caught myself licking my lips, wanting to drink coffee and taste his body.

I quickly sensed something was wrong.

I climbed off the couch and walked to the kitchen.

Riff looked pissed off as he made some coffee.

“Rough night of sleep?” I asked.

“Missing my covers, yeah,” he said.

“You needed yourblankie?” I teased.

He looked at me and curled his lip.

“Oh. Wow. You’re a dick today. You could have taken your precious blanket back.”

Riff sipped his coffee and walked away from me.

My eyes grew wide.

“Oh, okay,” I called out. “Fuck you too, Griffin!”

He paused and turned. “Are you hiding out here to avoid your life or what?”

“Excuse me?”

“How long are you going to hide from Remi?”
