“You need me,” Steven said, stepping toward Anna.

He had the nerve to point at her.

I grabbed his arm and pushed him out of the way.

He spun around and bumped into the desk.

Letting out a scream.

He then came toward me.

Eyes wide.

I simply put my right hand out.

He basically walked into my fist.

I didn’t even get the chance to really punch him.

But his head snapped back as though I had punched him.

Blood sprayed in the air, like someone popped a balloon fully of red jelly.

Steven dropped to his knees and stared up at me, shocked and shaking.

I guess nobody had ever stood up to him before and given him a well-deserved smack to the face.

“You fucking attacked me!” Steven roared. “Everyone saw it! You attacked me!”

“You ran into my fist,” I said. “And if you say one more word, I’m going to twist your neck all the way around.”

Steven fell to his left side and crawled across the floor and behind a chair.

I looked at Bethany and Anna.

Bethany looked shocked.

Anna looked worried.

“What the hell is with this guy?” I asked.

“This isn’t good,” Anna said.

She pushed by me and ran for Steven.

“Are you serious?” I called out.

“Anna, leave him be,” Bethany said. “He did this to himself. Showing up like this? Demanding you marry him?”

“I get that!” Anna screamed. “I’m not going to marry him! He’s not going to boss me around! I get all of that! But there are things you two don’t get…”

Anna looked down at Steven.

“I’m doing it,” I heard Steven said. “Unless you walk out of here with me. Hand in hand. Engaged to be married. That’s the only way I won’t do it.”

“Do what?” I growled.

I walked over to Anna and towered over Steven as he sat with his back against the chair.
