Fine. I’m sure you’re having more fun than I am.

The last message wasn’t long ago.

Sorry. Just got my phone back. Still alive!

Annnnnd?

Annnnnd more happened today than I can fit into a text message. You work tomorrow? Maybe I’ll come keep you company and save you from the Dragon.

You better. She’s been all over my ass because of the mess.

Scratch that, I still can’t leave. But call me when there’s a lull.

Wait, what mess?

See what happens when you drop off the face of the earth? ?? The Legion showed up today and spent some quality time. They left the place a mess. But everyone is fine, and nothing that breaks the rules. They’re toeing the line like always.

Guess we both have some stories to share. I’m about to put on the dress.

HAHAHHAHAHAHA.

Oh my god, you have to tell me how they react to it.

Their faces are going to melt off.

That’s the plan!

Knock ‘em dead, babe. Be the siren you were never born to be.

I sent her the middle finger via emoji and put my phone away. There wasn’t that much time until Silver said everyone would be there, but I had no problem making a grand entrance.

Puff batted the now disconnected charger across the sink.

“I have to get you some more toys,” I said, scratching her head. “Or maybe a harness so you can come out with me? I guess you could perch on my shoulder. But I’m thinking you probably don’t want to be cooped up in here all day.”

She chirped like she understood me, and hung out while I showered and did my makeup, taking it upon herself to knock my makeup brushes off the counter multiple times.

“Puff.”

She leapt off the counter, batting and chasing the tiny brush into the bedroom. I let her have it, turning back to my makeup. Dark and smoky eyes. Glossy lips. Just a hint of blush. I straightened my hair until it was straight and smooth, pouring down my back.

And then?

The dress.

Mags and I just called it the dress because we never thought there’d ever be a chance to wear it. By rights, I probably shouldn’t wear it, given it covered less than some of the things I wore on stage.

Fuck it.

Half the dress was see-through mesh, the opaque black strips curving back and forth over my body in a wave. It crossed over my nipples and back over the space between my legs. On the back it just barely covered my ass, and that was it because it only came to the top of my thighs.

Couldn’t wear any underwear in this dress.

Showing skin didn’t bother me, but my heart still beat faster as I put on a set of mile-high heels. Because I was showing skin forthem.

I set Puff on the bed and rubbed her belly till she purred and tried to play with my fingers. “I’ll see you later, okay?”

The second I walked out of the apartment building, I drew stares. From all over the plaza, but especially by the Clubhouse. It was right next to the gate and had a door on the outside of the compound. It was a business too, though I didn’t know how many non-club people visited the bar.
