Geero was trailing behind her. “What are you thinking?”

“I am looking at how much repair and renovation will have to be done. It will need a full electrical workup, but I can manage that. The cleanup is daunting.”

He moved behind her and massaged her shoulders. “I can help.”

She chuckled. “By getting hair everywhere?” She looked up and into his amused face.

“No. I worked for a contractor in high school.”

“I thought all you alphas went to special classes.”

“We do, but I had a job.” He chuckled. “It’s why I am so charming and helpful.”

He leaned down, she went up, and they met in the middle. Ondine knew that the kissing would probably wear thin, but it felt so good to have the ability to take her time. She didn’t feel rushed; she felt courted.

“Oh, so you... oh.” Enkari spluttered from behind them.

Geero licked his lips. “Yes, Aunt. Oh.”

“I thought you and that woman from last night. Amadine. Is that your sister, dear?”

Ondine smiled. “Yes. She was on that call because I was called to work.”

“Oh, you work?” Enkari smiled. “I thought Geero said something about being a stay-at-home mom.”

“Not yet. Soon.”

The agent looked at her abdomen. “Oh. You don’t look pregnant.”

“Yes, well, you haven’t seen me naked.”

Geero laughed and wrapped his arms around her, swinging her around.

When she was back on her feet, he kept hold of her. She looked to Enkari. “Where are we going next?”

Enkari nodded. “Right. Well, the next lot is also for sale.”

“Oh, I thought there was a house next door?”

Enkari winced. “There was. It was condemned. They had some repairs done that didn’t pass inspection, and the cost to have them redone was more than the house was worth. They decided to start again elsewhere.”

“Oh, can I see that house?”

“Certainly, but we have to wear hard hats and tread carefully.”

“I am up for that.” Ondine smiled. “Lead the way.”

Geero smiled and said, “We can go to as many places as you like. No rush. You need to pick some place you can call home.”

She nodded. “Right. I am not going to be rushed. I am glad you are patient.”

“Finding one to call home is important.”

She bit her lip. “We aren’t talking about houses, are we?”

His smile was slow. “Come on; my aunt is waiting.”

She sighed. “Right.”
