“I want to play with you. We can chat and play and get to know each other. If you beat me, I will answer any question you want me to, but if I win…” His eyes glittered.

“If you win, what?”

“You will have to wait and see.”

Idon’t know how long we played. Hours at least. So long that I lost feeling in my crossed legs. I didn’t move though.

He was mesmerising. And this was a new side of him. He seemed open and animated as he chatted away about nothing in particular and everything in general. He didn’t tell me much about himself, but somehow it felt like I was getting to know him.

“Hmm.” He stroked his fingers across his chin. His brow pinched together as he studied the board. It was an act, and we both knew it. He’d had the upper hand from the moment we set the board. He had been playing, but not to the best of his capabilities. He was dragging the game out.

“Judge?” I pulled the cashmere throw more snugly around my shoulders.

“Yes, Taylor?”

“It doesn’t matter where you move now. The game is over. I’ve lost.” I wanted to be upset about that but I couldn’t bring myself to be. There was no other move to make. None that would sway the game in my favour, anyway.

Darkly lashed eyes fluttered slightly. A tiny smile appeared on his face, but his eyes were serious when he met mine. “Is that right? Life is like chess, Taylor. Even when you think it’s over, there’s always a choice to be made.”

“That might be the case but–”

The sound of his black glass piece knocking mine over was loud in the quiet night air.

“There, it is done.” The smile on his face grew. “But remember that you had a choice. You could have continued to fight.”

“What–“ We were playing chess, which was a serious game, sure, but it wasn’t life or death. It wasn’tthatserious.

“Lay back Taylor.”

Surprised, I blinked up at him. “What? Why?”

Licking his lips slowly, he moved his head to the side. “Because I am about to take my prize.”

Butterflies took flight in my stomach. “Oh.”

He wanted to make love to me. I wanted that as well. He may have kidnapped me, he may have even made me jealous by bringing another woman on board, but I wanted him.

I’d wanted him again since that first night.

Moving my champagne glass to the table, I stretched out my legs, preparing myself to lay down.

“Wait.” With lightning fast reflexes, he caught my wrist. “Strip first.”

“Judge, I don’t know.” Nervously, I glanced into the dark interior. I couldn’t see any of the crew, but that didn’t mean they weren’t there. Watching, listening.

“No one is going to see but me, Taylor. Now come here.” Guiding me by the wrist, he manoeuvred me between his thighs.

“Slowly undo those buttons for me.” Letting go of my wrist, he placed his hands on either side of my thighs. The material of my shorts bunched up in his fists, which tightened and twisted as my fingers started loosening the buttons. They were small and fiddly and seemed impossible with my fumbling fingers. My nerves were getting the better of me.

“Stop.” Breathing heavily, The Judge leant forward. The tips of his fingers crawled upwards to slide inside my shirt and danced across my breast.

“Has anyone told you how perfect your tits are, Taylor?” Not waiting for me to answer, he pressed his mouth to my nipple. Over my shirt. I whimpered. “They are such tasty little morsels.” To prove his point, he sucked hard, drawing one straining nipple into his mouth. His hand held it firm so he could suck hard. “Fucking biteable.”

He bit down hard, and I was glad that there was material between my skin and his teeth. “Ow.”

“Ssshh.” He massaged away the pain in my smarting nipple with his thumb. “I’ll never hurt you, never push you further than you can actually go.”
