“Her dad can’t find out,” he added.

Steele tilted his head. “What’s going on, Kade?”

Motioning for the couple to come inside, he sighed. “Come in and we’ll explain.”

“I knew it. I just knew it, Daddy,” Ivy whispered to Steele.

Shaking his head, Steele tapped his Little girl’s bottom. “Hush, Little girl. You don’t know anything until they confirm it.”

Letting out a sigh, Ivy skipped into the house, pulling Steele with her as Kade followed. As soon as Ivy saw Remi, she let go of her Daddy’s hand and skipped over to the couch, plopping down next to her friend.

Steele crossed his arms over his chest and looked at Remi and then to Kade. “Explain.”

Grabbing the photos and letters from the counter, Kade took them to Steele and handed them to him. Steele was the president of the Shadowridge Guardians, and on top of that, Kade had known him all his life. They were like family and he trusted the man with his life just as Steele trusted Kade with his.

He stared at his friend while he read the letters, his eyes getting darker with each passing second. The men took protecting women very seriously and especially vulnerable Littles. As Steele studied the photos, Kade knew he was putting two and two together that Remi was a Little.

“What’s he reading?” Ivy asked.

Kade looked over at the two women. Remi was chewing on her bottom lip while Ivy looked from Kade to Steele and then back at Kade with a worried expression.

When Steele finally looked up, his gaze zeroed in on Remi. “Do you have any idea who’s sending this stuff?”

She shook her head. “No.”

“When did all of this start?” Steele asked.

“About three weeks ago,” she said so quietly that Kade barely heard her.

Steele looked like he was ready to explode, but he was keeping a tight rein on his temper. “Why am I just now finding out about this?”

Kade sighed. “Because I just found out about it last night when she called me. They dropped off the pictures yesterday, and then while I was at her place, someone knocked on the door and when I opened it, there were black roses on the doorstep with a note. My tires were slashed on my bike too.”

Ivy gasped and grabbed hold of Remi’s hand while Steele started pacing, letting out a string of curse words.

“You can’t tell my dad. He’s too weak still. That’s why I didn’t tell anyone. I’m sorry, you guys.”

Both men pinned her with a stern look.

“Remi, you’re our family. You know that. You should have come to us as soon as the first letter came. I understand you don’t want your dad to know but goddammit, you could have been hurt. And I don’t understand why you felt the need to keep your Little side a secret because you know we would never judge you. We love you, Remi girl,” Steele scolded.

She sank down farther into the couch and nodded, looking up at Kade with wide eyes and then to Steele. “I know. I’m sorry.”

Sighing, Steele ran a hand over his face. “You guys need to come stay at the compound. There’s more security there.”

Remi’s eyes immediately widened, but before she could protest, Kade had an idea. “Can we send Rock on a job so we can get her to the compound without being seen? She can stay in my apartment. No one would go in there.”

Steele nodded. “That’s a good idea. I actually need to get my new classic car to Seattle so Hawk can work on it now that he’s done with yours. I can ask him to take a prospect with him.”

Looking over at Remi, Kade nodded. “I think Steele is right, Princess. You’ll be safer, and your dad won’t even know you’re there.”

Ivy’s eyes widened to the size of saucers as she looked from Remi to Kade and then back to Remi again. Only Remi was now glaring at Kade.

“I told you not to call me that in front of people,” she hissed.

Fuck. She had. Although he hadn’t really thought she’d meant it. It had just sort of slipped out. It came so natural to him for some reason.

“Are you two—?” Ivy started to ask.
