Using the backs of her hands, she wiped at her tears. He reached over to the end table, grabbed a tissue, and started wiping her face before she could stop him. It was embarrassing, but she was too upset to care. She didn’t know how he was able to remain so calm when she was freaking the hell out inside. She trusted Kade, though. He would protect her with his life, but if she lost him… she didn’t know how she’d survive that. It was crazy how someone could become your everything in such a short amount of time.

“We do know that the person keeps driving the same truck, and there’s red paint on the bumper. We have guys riding around town looking for it.”

Nodding, she burrowed into his chest and sniffled. “I’m sorry I brought you into all this, Kade.”

He shifted, moving her into a sitting position so she was forced to look at him. He slid his hand around the back of her neck and leaned forward until they were forehead to forehead.

“I’m glad you brought me into this. Whoever is doing this is going to pay dearly for scaring my Little girl. I love you, Princess. It’s going to be okay. I know it’s annoying to have a security detail with you at work but this is exactly why I ordered it. Okay?”

Letting out a sigh, she nodded. “Thank you, Daddy.”

“You’re welcome, Princess. I’m going to take this out to Steele to turn in to the sheriff and then I think we both need some ice cream while we watch a movie. Yeah?”

A grin spread across her face as she nodded excitedly. “Yes!”

After the movie, she tried to talk her Daddy into having sex again, but when she attempted to straddle his lap and winced, he put a stop to it. Then he carried her into the bedroom and changed her into a frilly nightie that barely covered her bottom before tucking her into bed. The last thing she remembered was him sliding her pacifier between her lips.

She hadn’t slept well, though. She’d woken up several times through the night. All she could think about was who could be stalking her. Not wanting to wake Kade, though, she’d stayed still in his arms until she’d drifted off to sleep again.

Now, she was on her way to work being driven by Ink and Breaker, and she was exhausted. Kade had asked her if she needed to stay home, but she’d refused. Staying home would just make it worse because at least if she was at work, her mind would be busy with orders and taking care of customers’ needs.

The two men didn’t try to chat with her during the ride. She had a feeling they could tell she wasn’t in a very good mood. Maybe another round of sex would have helped with that. But her overprotective Daddy hadn’t let it happen that morning either. He really didn’t follow the “sharing is caring” mantra when it came to his cock. It was sweet that he was more worried about her comfort than his own needs. And based on the erection he’d been sporting in the shower, he had needs for sure.

The day started off as usual. She’d almost always worked the day shift, so she rarely had to deal with rowdy bar-goers late at night. It was typically pretty chill during the day, even though they were consistently busy.

By the time the lunch rush was over, she was feeling her exhaustion. She had a feeling Kade would insist on naptime when she got home. Her concealer could only hide the tiredness so much.

“Hey, doll.”

Her blood ran cold as that word sounded in her mind.Doll. My pretty doll.

She didn’t even have to look to know that voice belonged to Bill. Shooting a look at Ink and Breaker, she forced herself to smile at her customer as she took a step back. “Hey, Bill.”

“Get my usual?” he asked.

Nodding, she glanced over at the bikers who had seen the way she’d looked at them and were already moving toward the bar.

Trying to act as normal as possible, she fumbled behind the bar to make his drink as Ink and Breaker came and sat on either side of Bill. The older man looked at the two bikers and nodded. “Afternoon, gentlemen.”

Ink gave him a slow nod before looking at Remi. “Everything okay over here, Remi?”

Raising her gaze to Ink, she looked over at Bill and then back at him, hoping he would pick up on her signal.

Her hand trembled as she lifted the glass and set it in front of Bill.

“Thanks, doll,” he said as he reached for the glass.

Ink and Breaker were on him before he could even get his hand around the cold drink, pulling him off his barstool toward the door.

Breaker looked back at her, pinning her with the sternest look she’d ever seen on the man’s face.

“Call Kade. Do not come out after us,” he barked.

Nodding, she ran back to the kitchen where it would be quieter to make the call, only when she got back there, the cooks had their music blasting. Noticing the back door open to the alley, she walked through the kitchen and stepped outside where she could finally hear the other end of the call as Kade picked up.

“What’s wrong, baby?”
