“I don’t have concrete proof yet, but I believe this person is behind the photo leaks causing you bad press. I also believe he’s the one who sent those women to your condo. I hope to have proof for you within the next week or two. Even though he or she hasn’t gotten violent yet, that doesn’t mean this situation can’t escalate. Did you hire a security detail as I suggested?” Dean asked.

“I talked to Dimir Gusev from Bruiser Security Agency today. Starting tonight, he’ll have someone watching my mom’s house and her neighbor’s.”

“I know you said your friend will be staying at your neighbor’s place. So, I understand why you have security watching there. What about your place?”

“I want to catch the bastard myself if he comes to my place.”

“I don’t think that’s a good idea,” Dean told him.

“Maybe. Maybe not.” Moving past that, Caleb said, “Did you dig up any dirt on that ex-employee who was fired last year?”

“I did. He’s currently living and working in Florida.”

“Damn. So, he can’t be the one behind this.”

“Tell me more about him,” Dean told him.

“What does it matter since he’s in Florida?”

“On paper, he’s in Florida. I want to determine if he has the motivation to fake his paper trail.”

“He indeed has the motivation.”

Caleb proceeded to tell the P.I. about Stuart Braswell, his ex-employee. They’d found out Stuart lied to investors about a certain company. That lie convinced them to invest in said company which caused the investors to lose millions when the company flopped. Not only had he been lying to investors, but he’d also been skimming money off the top of projects.

If five percent of a profit was supposed to go to Fitzgerald and Wright, Stuart would change the documents to say three percent, and he’d pocket the rest. When Terrence and Caleb caught on to him, they immediately fired him. After he was fired, his wife left him. So did his mistress.

It turns out Stuart had been living beyond his means. Without the money he’d been skimming, he didn’t have enough to pay his bills. Because of this, he’d lost his family, his house, his four cars, everything. Due to his bad reputation, it had been hard for him to find a job.

Eventually, he found work with a rival company. They only hired him because he promised them inside information on F&W. He had this information because when Stuart left Fitzgerald and Wright, some important files went missing. After Caleb was outbid on a few deals, he realized those files had been given to that company.

He’d threatened them with legal action. They pretended they’d never received any files from Stuart. To cover their ass, the company fired Caleb’s former employee. After that, Stuart disappeared. It had been a year since anyone Caleb knew had seen or heard from Stuart. Wanted by the authorities, Stuart had been doing a great job of hiding.

However, with everything going on, Caleb knew Stuart had to be behind it. Sure, Caleb had a few enemies. But none who would go to this length to annoy him or try to bring him down. This case had Stuart Braswell written all over it.

“I agree,” Dean told him. “This Stuart guy is our main suspect. I have a guy who can run his face through facial recognition to see if he’s been spotted anywhere in the area. Though he wears his hoodie low when he’s near you, he wouldn’t do it in places where he feels safe. I’ll see if anything pops up.”

“Let me know as soon as you find something.”

“I will. And Caleb, a person who has lost everything, has nothing to lose. This man is dangerous. You may need to hire a security detail for you too. Not just for your loved ones.”

“Alright,” Caleb lied before ending the call.

He had no intention of hiring security for himself and scaring Stuart off. He wanted Stuart to find him. He wanted him to try something. But with him only. Not his mother, not Mrs. Wright, and not Vivian. For them, he’d hired security. Oh, and for Tiera. Caleb sighed as he thought of Tiera.

If anything happened to her, he’d lose his mind. His gaze drifted to his office door. He couldn’t believe she was this close to him. Even so, she felt farther away than ever. She kept putting up a wall between them. No matter how hard he tried to break it down, she kept rebuilding it before he could cross over.

If she mentioned leaving in two weeks again, he’d place her over his lap and spank her. Caleb smiled. She may not like that. But he’d love it. Images of him doing just that drifted through his mind. He forced them away so he could focus on work. A few hours later, his office door burst open.

“It’s five,” Tiera told him. “I’m going to my hote… mom’s house. Bye.”

“Wait,” he yelled before she could bolt. “I’ll follow you.”

“No need. I know the route.”

“I’m following you,” he told her.

“Alright. Finish what you’re doing. I’ll be at my desk.” She smiled.
