“Yeah, sometimes it seems as if he spent years coming up with the perfect plan,” I said sarcastically.

Gabriel looked at me in confusion.

“As if he has this special kind of power where time isn’t an issue anymore,” I continued.

“Few people have that,” Dad said.

“Indeed, few PEOPLE,” I said.

Gabriel sensed something wasn’t quite right and said, “We must be going. Business won’t take care of itself.”

“It was lovely meeting you,” Mom said.

“Come here, Son,” Dad said and went for a hug. “You smell so good. Is it a Romanian brand?”

“Dad, stop with the weird questions,” I said.

“What? I want to know,” Dad said.

“Yes, it’s a hundred percent Romanian manufacturer,” said Gabriel and smiled.

“We better get going,” I said and hugged my parents.

“I’ll send you the details of the wedding ceremony. Also, please send me the measurements for your outfits. I’ll have the best tailors prepare your garments,” Gabriel said.

“But we don’t have your number,” said Mom.

“Look in your phone. There is a text message from me,” Gabriel said as we exited the house.

Dad put on his reading glasses and said: “Hello, Sharon and Constantin. Looking forward to seeing you at the wedding.”

“When did you send this?” I asked as we walked to the limo.

“Before we entered the house.” Gabriel opened the door for me.

“Cocky much?”

“Only for you,” he said and smiled mischievously.

Once I entered the car, I crossed my arms and began pouting. I couldn’t believe he didn’t tell me anything. The wedding, the honeymoon, the island. Goodness. All of this resembled a roller-coaster where I was the only one with my eyes tied. Gabriel entered the car, pulled me closer to him, and told Roger to go to the hotel.“What’s wrong, my love? I believe our meetup with your parents went well. Is there something else bothering you?”

In a way, he didn’t do a bad thing, but I couldn’t let this one slide. “Why didn’t you tell me about the wedding ceremony before talking to my parents? I almost died from choking back there.”

“I would’ve revived you. I have experience in the field.” He still didn’t take this seriously.

“Listen, I know you had plenty of time to plan this, but I prefer if you didn’t leave me blind-sighted on such serious matters.”

“I didn’t think it would bother you so much. And I did plan on telling you, but my plans got cut short at Transfagara?an with the whole car chase, and then you wanted to taste vampire blood on the plane, and I couldn’t risk your first time being with someone unknown.”

“Yes, but this is a wedding. Our wedding. I’d rather be late to see my parents than be taken off-guard like that.”

“Understood. Let’s start from the beginning. Do you still want to marry me?”

“I do,” I said, still pouting.

“Do you want to have a wedding?” Gabriel asked.

“I wouldn’t mind a wedding for my close ones to witness.”
