“Hello?”

“Hey, it’s Declan.”

“Oh, hey, what’s goi …”

“Have you heard from Taryn?” He tried hiding the fear in his voice, but it was no use.

“No. Why? What’s going on?”

“Has she tried calling Addison?”

“Not that I know of, but I haven’t talked to her yet. What’s going on, Declan? You’re scaring me.”

He took a deep breath to control his wavering voice. “I don’t know yet. Maybe nothing. I am trying to find her.”

“Are you sure? Do you need me to come back?”

“No, no. I will call you in a bit. Don’t worry.” He was trying to tell himself that more than Madison.

“Okay …”

Declan hated riling up the sisters, but he needed to check with all of them. He called Addison next. Same story.

Last was Lexi.

“Hello?”

“Lexi? It’s Declan. Have you heard from Taryn?”

She was silent before answering. “Why?”

“Well, uh, because …”

“She’s in trouble, isn’t she? Something’s wrong.”

Declan was surprised the youngest caught on so fast, but then again, maybe her being able to shift allowed her link to be stronger with her siblings than the others. Or maybe she could just tell based on his voice.

“I’m not sure. I’m trying all options first.”

“Keep me posted. I can be there as soon as needed.”

“Thank you. I didn’t mean to worry you. I just need to find her.”

“Declan.”

“Yes?”

“Find her.”

Declan ended the call feeling worse than before.

None of the sisters knew where Taryn was or had heard from her. He only had one person left to call.

“Hey, Hanna. Is Taryn with you?”

“No. Why, what happened?”

Declan gave in to his horror. “She’s missing. I can’t find her anywhere. No one has heard from her.”
