I lift my head and the stars in her eyes must match the ones in mine. “I’m gonna love you forever, firecracker.”
“I’ll love you until the day I die, Tony. No other man will ever matter to me but you.” She pauses and grins, touching her stomach. “Unless we have a son.”
“We’re?” He throws his head back and laughs. “This has got to be the best day ever. I’ve got my woman with my ring on her finger.”
“You haven’t put it on my finger.”
I drop to my knees and grasp her dainty hand, slipping the sparkling platinum and diamond solitaire on her finger.
“Now. Now you’re all mine.”
“Until the baby comes.”
“We’re work on that,” I say and then I hug her to me and accept the congratulations and back-breaking slaps with a grin. Until I see Tom coming in the door with a shell-shocked look on his face, standing with a a gorgeous strawberry blond woman who’s wearing the same look.
