The priest taps the mic on the podium and draws our attention to the front. I watch Corvin straighten to his full height out of the corner of my eye. His gaze isn’t on the priest though, it’s on the dark wooden casket that sits up at the front covered in flowers; a large portrait of Cody sits at the head of the coffin on a stand. A lump forms in my throat at the sight of her picture. She was only eighteen, she had her whole life ahead of her and because of some sick fuck her life was robbed from her.

“I can’t do this,” Corvin mutters, both Darius and I block him from exiting the church.

“You may not want to be here but by God, you are going to stay because that girl deserves that much from you. Man the hell up, Corvin, and pull your head out of your ass. Cody deserves more than this pathetic sack of shit in front of me, don’t dishonor her by being a pussy and leaving.” I have no words, Darius literally said everything I wanted to say. My attention is pulled to the front when I see a blur of raven-hair. My eyes widen as I watch the raven-haired girl from earlier thank the priest and take his spot on the podium.

“Who the fuck is she?” I growl, low enough for only them to hear.

“Who?” D asks.

“Her!” I grit out as I point at the girl.

“Shit,” Darius breathes out at the sight of her, the raven-haired girl lifts her gaze and stares straight at Corvin who stands stiff as a statue beside us. An evil smirk graces the girls face as she stares at Corv, dread begins to form in my stomach. I can feel it, something bad is about to happen.

“Thank you all for coming,” she says as she looks around the packed church. “For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Alexa.” She pulls her stare back to Corvin before she delivers the blow none of us saw coming. “And I’m Cody’s little sister.”

Oh fuck, Corvin just boned his dead girlfriend’s little sister.
