“Where is Marco?” Oliver demands before I can.

“He’s making one last sweep of the reception hall,” one man answers.

Oliver notices my peeved expression. “I’ll call and see where he is.”

I nod, then knock on Ava’s door.

“Who is it?” Ava asks, her voice sugary-sweet.

“It’s your son and husband-to-be.”

I hear giggles followed by hurried steps before she opens the door with Aisling in her arms. “You aren’t supposed to see the bride before the wedding.” She flutters her lashes at me.

“Moot point since I saw you this morning.”

“Dadda,” Aisling calls, distracting me from the grin Ava is struggling to hold back.

“Hi, princess.”

“Dadda,” she calls again with her arms in the air, trying to get me to take her.

Ava smiles. “Let me feed Niko.”

“Perfect. I’ll come in.”

I take a step forward, but she blocks me. “I don’t think so. My dress is in plain sight. Hi, Oliver.”

“I was wondering if I was invisible,” Oliver teases, now standing beside me.

“Never. Now, take Aisling,” she orders Oliver. When he does as ordered, she adds, “Okay, big boy, come to Mommy.” She swoops in to take Niko out of my hands.

“Momma,” Niko whimpers while leaning forward with his arms outstretched.

“I’ll bring him over to your suite and pick up Aisling when I’m done.”

“My tux might be on my bed,” I tease her.

“I picked it, so I know what it looks like.” She winks, then cradles Niko close to her chest.

Feeding off the playfulness, I murmur, “I might have made changes.”

That gets a smile out of her. “Sure, you did.” She rolls her eyes. “Go.” After pointing down the hall, she leans forward to give me a soft kiss on the lips.

“Save it for the ceremony,” Oliver adds while walking away with Aisling.

“Go,” Ava repeats, still smiling.

I shake my head before begrudgingly leaving.

When Aisling calls for me again, I catch up to Oliver and take her.

“What is it, princess?” She curls her little arms around my neck, then lays her head on my shoulder.

“She has you wrapped around her little fingers.”

“She does not,” I protest as we enter the suite.

“Keep telling yourself that.” He laughs before gesturing toward the bar with his head. “Want a drink?”
