“Maybe we can do a photoshoot.”

I tug on the collar of her shirt. “What are you wearing now?”

“It’s not white but peach.”

“No matter the color, I’m sure you’d look hot as hell in it.”

I move away and unbuckle one saddlebag and pull out a helmet and boots.

She glances at the items in my hands as her brows furrow.

I shrug. “I peeked at your shoe size and guessed on the helmet. If they don’t fit, we can exchange them.”

“You bought these for me?”

“If you’re going to ride with me, you’ll need proper gear. Gotta make sure you’re safe.” I plop the helmet on her head and buckle the strap under her chin. Bending down, I lift one foot as she uses my shoulder to balance. I remove her shoe and replace it with the six inch black leather motorcycle boot, then I repeat the process with her other foot.

“How do they fit?” I glance up at her, my hand running along her calf.

She wiggles her foot. “Perfect. It’s like you’re my very own prince charming.”

A laugh rumbles from my chest. “Prince and charming aren’t exactly words to describe me.”

She taps her finger to her chin. “How about badass biker stud?”

“Better.”

She holds up her shoes. “Where should I put these?”

“You can put them in the saddlebags on the bike.”

Swinging my leg over the seat, I straddle the bike. I turn the key, press the ignition switch, and the engine rumbles to life. I rev the engine a few times before bending over to flip down the foot pads. With a head nod, I motion for her to hop on.

“Um. I’ve never done this before!” she yells over the chugging of the V-Twin. She stares at me, unsure of what she’s supposed to do.

“Put one foot on this pad and hike your other leg over the seat.”

“Okay. But wait. Where’s your helmet?”

“Don’t have one.”

She plants her hands on her hips. “That’s not going to work. Even badass Jax Teller wears a helmet.”

“Well first off, that’s fiction. And my primary concern is your safety.”

“And I need to make sure you’re safe. I’m not getting on until you’re wearing a helmet.”

“I don’t have one, so how about this? If we stop and get one, will you get on?”

“Promise?”

“For you, I promise.”

“Okay.” A sweet smile covers her face. It’s one that makes my heart beat a little faster. She rests a hand on my shoulder and one foot on the pad and lifts herself up. As quick as she can, she swings her other leg over and plops down on the seat.

I turn my head toward her. “Wrap your hands around my waist and hold on. Try not to move around too much because I can feel your movements. Also, when we make turns you want to lean into the turn. Just follow my lead.”

“Okay. Got it.”
