Irma walked over to the car and I followed her. She was quiet. I never had any issues getting someone to talk to me.

I leaned against the car. “Are you from Prague?”

Her eyes narrowed. “This isn’t a sleepover. Keep your mouth shut and your eyes open, and you might live past tonight. I’ll be your babysitter.”

The doors unlocked and I slid into the backseat. Irma seemed pissed because she had to watch me, but that was her problem. I had time to loosen her up.

Her accent was Albanian.

Forty minutes later, we arrived at the hotel.

Irma elbowed me. “Here, I’m not one for leaving a woman defenseless. I trust you know how to use this.” She handed me a Smith &Wesson G27 subcompact Semi-Automatic weapon.

Smiling, I took the pistol and checked the ammunition. “Yes, thank you.”

Before I could conceal it, Cian snatched it from me. “No guns for you. You don’t need it with all of us heavily armed.”

“If something happened or if I get snatched, I am completely defenseless in a foreign country where I don’t speak the language. I need that gun.”

He pinched my cheek. “You are never defenseless. You also speak a little bit of the language. If you are worried, make sure you stick close to us and don’t wander off. You’ll be fine.”

Mikhail laughed then pretended to cough.

After Zakhar let himself out of the car downtown with a cryptic goodbye, we followed Tarion to the hotel.

Forty minutes later, we parked in the hotel parking garage. The garage was packed. We drove around for some time, before we finally parked near Tarion.

Mikhail looked at Cian. “Get out first and make your way to the rooftop. There’s a secret exit on the fiftieth floor near room five forty and twenty-five. Besa will meet you there in fifteen minutes. Tarion and Jetmira are on their way to check into room five twenty. That room will be used as our emergency room if we need to make a quick exit. Anya, you will go with Irma and me to check into room two twenty-two.”

Cian’s lips tightened. “I will go with the girls and you check the roof.”

Mikhail sighed. “Your clothes will stand out. This hotel is expensive and you look poor. Not to mention that I need you on the roof. The Dragons operate in this area. I don’t want any surprise attacks or mayhem. Don’t get any ideas about selling Irma and Anya which is why I’m escorting them. I’m known here. My presence won’t stand out but it will be reported to them. If given the opportunity, they will retaliate.”

Cian nodded then quietly left the car. Within minutes he disappeared. I hadn’t seen which direction he had gone. I didn’t want him on the roof by himself but someone had to be up there.

Why hadn’t Mikhail sent Besa to the roof first? He must know Cian is deaf.

I opened my mouth.

“Don’t worry about him. He’ll be fine, even if we get unexpected company,” said Mikhail.

“I wasn’t going to ask about him. I wanted to know who the Dragons are?” I unbuckled my seatbelt.

He shrugged. “They are the Vietnamese Mafia. They used to operate out of Chinatown in New York before we ran them out of the state. They have a grudge against us. They will side with our enemy to try to reclaim Chinatown. Let’s go.”

The hotel was fancy like he said. The clientele was connected and the women were fucking crime bosses or trying to. Irma was all over Mikhail kissing his neck and acting like a horney slut. It was working. I followed her lead and began touching on her ass and flicking my tongue at her. If I had to choose between touching Mikhail or Irma, it was her. I wasn’t bisexual but most men fantasized about sleeping with two women at the same time.

Mikhail handed her the room key. “You two go on up and get naked. I’ll be up shortly.”

Irma snatched the key and blew him a kiss. She wrapped her arm around my waist, and we headed down the hall to the elevators. The hair on my neck curled. I couldn’t shake the feeling that someone was watching me. Once the elevator doors shut, we continued to keep up the appearance of being all over each other. Instead of the elevator going to the twentieth floor, it stopped on the seventeen floor and wouldn’t go up. It wasn’t long before a red x appeared on the key panel with a short message in Czech. I only understood two words in the message: problem and exit. It might be a coincidence that the elevator broke while we were the only two people on it, but I doubted it.

I frowned at her. “It looks like we’re going to have to take another elevator. I’m going to need more protein if I’m going to handle both of you tonight.”

She raised an eyebrow. “You came first last time. Don’t be a greedy bitch. Patience is a virtue.”

Irma walked out and I followed close behind her. Her expression gave nothing away but the slight tension in her shoulders showed me that she was on high alert too. Right now, I hate being weaponless. I was at a disadvantage, and I didn’t like it. We rounded a corner and the four elevators on this floor were also not working.

“Baby girl, I hope your heels are comfortable. “We’re going to have to take the stairs to the next floor,” said Irma.
