No, no, no. Please make it stop.

Marnus doesn't know the reason we broke up, and I don't want him finding out like this.

"During our relationship, Pierce told me he thinks he's"—Reece does that nose scrunch thing he does—"bisexual."

Without missing a beat, Marnus cocks his head to the side. "So?"

"So? That's not cool."

My gaze drops, and I stare at my hands pressed together in my lap. I can't believe my most personal, intimate feelings are being discussed like this.

It’s the fucking worst.

"What's not cool about it?" Marnus demands.

"Everything," Reece bites back. "Who even does that? People go from being straight to bi to gay. No one reverses it and goes from gay to bi."

My teeth are clenched so damn hard. Every part of that statement is so wrong and fucked up and yet, it hurts. His stupid, ignorant words still fucking hurt me after all this time. I hate myself for it almost as much as I hate him.

"And besides," Reece adds. "If he discovered he was bi, it probably means he was going to, you know, go and do bi stuff."

"How old were you when you realized you were gay?" Marnus asks.

"I don't know." Reece shrugs. "Ten, maybe eleven."

"So a few yearsbeforeyou actually had sex, right?"

"Well, yeah."

Marnus sits up taller. "So, a person coming to a conclusion about their sexuality doesn't automatically mean they're going to go out and have sex."

"That's true," David agrees, earning him a sharp glare from Reece.

"If Pierce discovered something about himself while he was in a relationship with you," Marnus continues, "he should have received support and encouragement, not been judged and subjected to bigoted, outdated, and just downright wrong beliefs."

"Well, I—"

"I haven't finished yet," Marnus overrides Reece. "While we're clearing things up, there's no one linear direction for how a person's sexuality unfolds. It happens in different ways for different people. Now if you'll excuse us, Pierce and I need to leave to have some mind-bending, backbreaking…sexual intercourse."

Marnus pushes to his feet and stretches out his hand. I take it, and as I get up from the table, I can't help but smile as I take in the two shocked faces on the other side of it.

Pierce swipes his hand through his hair, pushing a few loose strands of hair behind his ear. "I… I can't believe that just happened."

I flick on the indicator and pull out of the resort's parking lot. "You'll have to be more specific. Which part?"

He chuckles, which I take as a sign he's not too furious with me for my little outburst back there.

"That you said what you did. That you stood up for me. That you…that you're not judging me for being bisexual."

"I would never judge you for that."

I wish I weren't driving so I could look at Pierce and let him see how much I truly do mean it. I already had a low impression of Reece, but to do that to someone, to reduce them and belittle them like that—the guy is scum. Pure and simple.

I'm determined not to give him any more airtime in my head. TheEveryone Hates Reeceshow is officially canceled.
