After they shared a quick breakfast, they set off at a brisk pace toward the ranch house. Millie was so excited she was practically skipping.

As she entered the building, she took everything in with delight. Her gaze immediately fell on the decorations that had been lovingly arranged around the room. Streamers hung from the ceiling and bunches of balloons floated near the entrance. The tables were covered with vibrantly-colored cowboy bandanas, used as tablecloths, and adorned with lanterns and cacti and wildflowers in mason jars as centerpieces. All around, staff members were buzzing about, putting the finishing touches to the place. She could smell savory aromas coming from the kitchen, too — clearly, Chef Pedro and the team were already hard at work.

“You’re here!” It was Takis. He threw his arms wide. “Good. I’m glad to see you.” Then he checked his watch. “First plane full of guests should be here at any moment. Although, Millie, we have one very special guest who actually got in a little earlier than we expected.”

Millie’s eyes widened with excitement, but before she even had time to squeal, she saw her best friend in the whole wide world.

“Zara!”

She was standing at the top of the staircase, looking — as always — absolutely perfect. These days, her best friend wore her golden-blond hair in a messy mass of wavy curls around her shoulders, but in the past, she’d always meticulously straightened it. It was a marker of the change in her, the acceptance of her Little side.

“Millie!” Zara said, clasping her hands together for just a moment. “You look sohappy!”

It was the best thing that Zara could have possibly said. Millie rushed forward flinging herself at her friend, and wrapping her arms around her. They’d been friends since they were tiny, and Millie sometimes forgot that Zara was literally a princess. It felt surreal to think of her like that. She wasn’t Princess Zara Sussex. Nope. She was just Zara.

“We haveso muchcatching up to do!“ Millie said, holding her friend’s hand.

“Is that Chuck?” Zara asked, looking past her.

“That’s me,” Chuck said. In a rare move, he removed his Stetson, before performing a shallow bow to Zara. “Beg your pardon, ma’am. Never met a princess before.”

“Okay, well, he’s absolutely charming,” Zara said, her perfect white smile setting the room alight.

Takis swept in from the side. “Young ladies,” he said, his face a little touched by stress, “I appreciate that the two of you have a lot to talk about, but…”

“Don’t worry, Sir,” Zara said, “I know you must have a lot to do.” She looked at Millie. “We can catch up later.”

Millie pouted, but only for a moment. “Fine.”

“No sulking, babygirl,” Chuck said, replacing his Stetson. “We need to check in with our friends.”

“Right,” Millie said, a thrill of excitement running through her. “Let’s go.”

Even though he knew that it wasn’t possible, Chuck could have sworn that the horses knew that today was an important day.

At the stables, which had also been decorated with a variety of ranch-style decorations and banners, the horses were all on their best behavior.

“They all seem ready,” Millie said. She’d spent some time — more than normal — brushing Thunder this morning. He was a big part of the show, and she wanted to make sure that he was feeling pampered and prepared for the day.

He’d been super-impressed with the way she’d built her relationship with that horse. After her dad had left the ranch, Millie had thrown all of her efforts into befriending him. With Chuck and Millie’s relationship finally out in the open, it was as though she was finally able to focus completely on her work.

She’d flourished, and it had been a pleasure to witness.

“And you’re sure about Thunder?”

Millie grinned, before gently stroking the black stallion’s face. “I’m sure. He’s a good boy, and he’s gonna do great today.”

“Good,” Chuck said.

The plan for the day was ambitious. After welcoming the new arrivals to the ranch house, Takis would take them all on a tour of the ranch. The guests would be stopping off at the buildings: the range, the veterinary practice, the Little House, and the stables.

Chuck and Millie would stay here until the tour group arrived. Then, Chuck would give a brief introductory speech, before Millie would give a demonstration of horsemanship out in the corral.

After the tour, there was going to be a party at the ranch house. It would be a kink-positive celebration of all things age play. Chuck was excited; he’d never been to a BDSM club before. He was expecting big things from the party. He knew that Millie was excited, too.

He’d even bought her a couple of little presents for the event, stuff that might spice things up a little bit.
