“What?” Levi asked.

“Both of us?”

“You hit Arthur more than Royal did. Both of you need to cool off.” Levi’s tone was indignant.

Aspen grunted. “He deserved it.”

“And you deserve anger management.” He had a comeback to everything; he’d clearly rehearsed this.

Dick.

“Where can we even go that won’t be massively publicized. We can’t just walk into a meeting.” I found it impossible to believe he’d found a place.

“It’s called Black Diamond.” Levi got out of the car when we pulled up to the FBO. He’d booked a private jet?

“Are you seriously kidnapping us?” I got out of the car only because Sebastian kept side-eyeing me, and he’d get way too much satisfaction trying to drag me out of the car. I had some dignity left.

“You’re not children. I can’t kidnap you.” Levi rolled his eyes.

Aspen walked away with his phone pressed to his ear. He had to be calling Kingsley.

“Isn’t holding someone against their will against the law?” I couldn’t believe he was doing this.

Levi rolled his eyes. “This isn’t false imprisonment.”

“Can I leave?” I asked.

“No,” Levi said.

“Then it feels a lot like false imprisonment. You taught me that’s how it works with cops.”

“Get on the fucking plane.”

“And if I don’t?” I asked.

“Then your entire team quits.” Levi crossed his arms.

“You’re shitting me,” I said.

“They aren’t. Even our label is in on it. They think we need ‘time together to figure our shit out,’” Aspen said, putting the last in finger quotes as he returned. “I just talked to Kingsley. He is fully on board. He told me he was worried.”

“Couldn’t you have just put us in couple’s therapy?” I asked, already planning on avoiding Aspen as much as possible.

“No. We can’t have you in the public eye for a while, not until the stuff with Arthur blows over.”

“This sounds stupid.” I stood at the foot of the G650ER, refusing to walk up the air stairs.

“It’s a forced vacation. You’ll get over it. I’ll see you in a month.” Levi held out his arm like he was gesturing us into the plane.

“A month?” I hesitated. “Are you fucking kidding me?”

“Nope. You’ll be back in time for Christmas. I’ve told your mom, don’t worry.”

“Why the fuck would we need to go for a month?” I asked as the bodyguard behind me started to shove me up the steps to get me on the plane. At least it wasn’t Sebastian.

“Because you need a real break out of the public eye and to fucking sober up.” Levi looked a little smug about it, and I wanted to know how Aspen wasn’t fucking protesting, too. He had to be as mad as I was, but he wasn’t saying a word.

When we stepped on the private jet, Aspen took a solo seat in the back, probably trying to get as far away from me as possible.
