“Don’t try to play it off. We were told there was only one bungalow left.” Royal said, but not angrily.

Levi studied him. “Sure, I booked a two-bedroom bungalow. It wasn’t going to do me any good if you two avoided each other the entire time. God knows you would have just ignored the group therapy and deflected in individual sessions, and we’d be no closer to working this out. You’d have to break up the band.”

I stifled a laugh over him, knowing Royal so well. “It wasn’t two bedrooms.”

“One room?” Levi glanced between us.

“One fucking bed,” Royal said like he was daring Levi to ask more.

We hadn’t discussed when we were going to tell anyone. I mentally added that to the conversation we needed to have tonight after his mother went to bed and if he was still insistent on telling her before Christmas when we planned to stay there for the week. We’d already missed Thanksgiving.

“So you were not speaking to him, and they only gave you one bed? Where’d you sleep? Not on that dinky little sofa in the photos?!” Levi shook with amusement.

“We slept together,” Royal said with a smugness that gave Levi pause.

“Stop playing. You couldn’t even look at him. Come on, who slept on the couch until you worked it out?”

Royal’s mouth curled into a filthy smirk. “We shared the bed, Levi, and we worked out our issues there.”

It wasn’t entirely true. There was time there between him kissing me and finally fucking me. We’d avoided each other, but I didn’t want to correct him and spoil his game with Levi.

Levi’s amusement waned as he tried to work out what Royal said. “Worked what out?”

Royal kept grinning. “You’ll get there. Give it a minute.”

Levi glanced between us. “You worked out your issues in bed. You... What issues in bed?”

“He can’t be this dense.” Royal rolled his head in my direction.

I shrugged, unable to help the smile on my face. “You’re going to blow his mind.”

“What are you two talking about? Is this payback?” Levi’s tone got sharp.

“Is what payback?” I asked, tracing my fingers over Royal’s palm.

“This confusing guessing game. Someone just tell me,” Levi demanded.

“Should we?” I asked, glancing over at Royal.

He grabbed a fistful of my hair and kissed me. Not a peck, either. He half dragged me into his lap while licking at my tongue. He bit my lip and then pulled back, turning to Levi. “Do you need any more clarification?”

“WHAT?” Levi’s reaction took the cake, but Sebastian and Tom were both staring at us, too.

No one had an inkling? I broke out laughing. There was no other reaction to be had.

“What?” Royal returned sardonically.

“What the fuck was that? Is that what the issue was? Are you—” Levi’s jaw hung slack, and he had one brow raised in utter confusion.

“I’m not taking questions at this time. Thank you.” Royal put his hand on my thigh and squeezed while I shook with laughter.

“Then you fucking explain, Aspen,” Levi demanded.

“What other explanation do you need? You turned us into an only one bed romance. So if anyone is going to take the blame, it’s you,” I said, trying to keep it together long enough to give him shit.

“I didn’t—I told them two bedrooms!”

“Guess you and Delia weren’t on the same page, and since you didn’t take our calls,” Royal said, delivering the words like the win they were.
