Logan kneaded his ass and spread his cheeks, pressing the tips of his fingers over his hole.

He muttered in their kiss, “I want you so much.” Logan was now grabbing his ass roughly. Sammy shivered, as this confident touch was something new too, but he loved it just the same. Then suddenly Logan pulled back. His eyes were wide with embarrassment. Sammy giggled. Logan looked adorable, with his messy hair, flushed cheeks, and searching blue eyes.

“What’s wrong, baby?” Sammy cupped his face, kissing him softly and feeling Logan melt next to him.

“I’m sorry. I just…I want you so much, I just went for your ass like a fucking savage. Do you even… like I don’t need to…and if you want to I can…I want to…” He was babbling in between Sammy kissing him and chuckling at him.

“Are you asking me if I want you to fuck me? Or are you telling me you want me to fuck you?” Sammy was laughing in earnest and Logan relaxed in his arms and laughed with him.

“No one is fucking anyone today, or at least not right now.” Sammy was laughing so hard he was shaking both of them and Logan couldn’t help but grin, looking at him with sheepish confusion. Sammy wiped a tear and brushed Logan’s hair back, giving his nose a peck.

“Baby, think about it. You don’t go around sticking dicks in asses without any prep. There are like a bunch of things you do beforehand.”

Logan’s face turned the darkest shade of red Sammy had ever seen on him. Sammy knew it was a little cruel, but he just couldn’t stop laughing at his adorably flustered face. He pulled him back in a tight embrace and went back to kissing him. Feeling Logan melt against his body was like he was binding them together. They would figure it all out one step at a time. Sammy just knew if Logan had made it here today, they were both willing to give this thing between them a try. “How did you even get here?”

“I drove.”

“What? Really? Oh my God, Logan, that’s a big deal.”

“When you left…” He took a deep breath and pulled away so he could look at Sammy when he spoke. “After I made you leave, for no good reason, I called my best friend Dave. I had been shutting him out for a very long time, and when you were gone, I realized I was doing the same to you. For the first time in forever, I just couldn’t bear to lose someone else I cared for. We talked things out, and it’s not all peachy, but at least all the cats are out of the bag now and I can move on with my life without constantly feeling worthless and guilty.”

“You are neither of those things, Logan.” Sammy caressed his face gently.

Logan was quiet for a while and brought Sammy closer to himself again, nuzzling his face and running his hands through his hair. “I think all I ever want to do is stay naked with you. Everything about you brings me peace.”

He seemed to stiffen and pull back again. “Fuck. I’m sorry. I just showed up out of the blue. I didn’t even ask you if you need to go to work or have appointments or…the book! It’s in the car! I got it, and, and you can do with it whatever you want. I can sign anything you need me to. Right now! Whatever you need. Let’s go see James!” Sammy shushed him with a kiss, but when he pulled away Logan went on babbling. It was so cute. “I mean, clearly, Morpheus would be the star of that show, but I doubt he would hassle you for royalties. Maybe bacon-flavored snacks.” Sammy just kept on grinning like an idiot peppering his adorably flushed face with kisses.

“It’s okay baby.” He could see Logan gave him a small smile every time he used the term of endearment. Sammy had never called anyone “baby”. He had always thought the word almost insulting, but the way it rolled out of his lips when he spoke to Logan, it made him feel this weird tingle in his belly, this small sense of excitement, because he could tell Logan liked it too.

Then his eyes went wide. “Morpheus! Where is he?”

“He’s with Dave, probably having the best day of his life, getting spoiled and playing with his little boy Jackson.” He chuckled, then cupped Sammy’s face. “I didn’t know what to do, and when I saw the payment information slip in the box with your sample books, I just rolled the dice and drove here after my appointment. I wasn’t sure you would take me back.”

“You should have more faith in me, and in the fact, I find you too hot to turn down.” He chuckled at the way Logan blushed and bit his lower lip.

Sammy brushed his nose lightly, and they did stay in bed all day, only Sammy dragged his laptop over to do some work and Logan found a bunch of books he stacked on his side of the bed and went through most until he settled on a book titledMalum Discordiae. He’d always had a fascination with supernatural fiction, and to discover there was a whole new world of LGBTQIA literary fiction, made him beyond excited. Sammy had tons of these books, and he quickly resolved to devour as many as possible.

Sammy was going through his emails when he cried out, “Thank fuck!”. He grabbed his face and slanted their mouths in a celebratory kiss. He had gotten the job at the retreat. It was tomorrow and he had to plan his commute.

“I’ll take you there, and then I’ll come get you in the morning. Or…if that’s okay, I’ll just stay there, and we can come back together. Go to my place or come back here. Whatever you like,” Logan offered, then quickly added, “Whatever works for your schedule. I’m going to meet with my dad after we part – hopefully we can work something out and I can get back to work soon. Until then, you’re in charge.”

Sammy wanted to slap the stupid grin off his face. What Logan was offering wasn’t a big deal, but for some reason it just felt ridiculously sweet.

“Are you sure? I will literally be working the whole time. I don’t want you to get bored.”

Logan waved him off. He already had the website of the retreat opened on his phone. “They have a spa there, and yoga classes. It’s like Pilates, right? I’ll be just fine.”

Sammy just giggled because he hadn’t thought Logan was the spa-loving type, but the other man defended, “What? I like a nice self-care day.” Then his face grew more serious, and he added, “Sophy used to book us in places like that all the time. I can’t say I liked it at first, but I guess, I learned to enjoy it.”

Sammy gave his hand a firm squeeze. “I won’t hold it against you if you change your mind.”

Logan shook his head. “No. I want to do this. And I want to be there for you. I was thinking, perhaps, I could give you the truck to take back home so you wouldn’t have to borrow your friend’s car.”

“What are you going to drive?”

Logan shrugged his shoulders. “Right now, if my plan works, I can get back my old work pickup truck. I’m overdue to get back to work anyway. I don’t know how that conversation will go down. My dad and I…it’s been difficult. I’ll see them next week. I figure, helping them out with the business in any capacity is a good start.”

Sammy couldn’t help but be ridiculously proud of him and just a tiny bit worried about Logan’s parents. He had been dodging phone calls from his mother Debbie all weekend and Sammy was pretty sure he hadn’t mentioned his brother Lucas or his father Tom. Clearly their relationship had suffered greatly after the incident last year.
