A tear slowly slid down her cheek and she sucked in a sharp breath.
“Oh Simon, I love you, too.”
She lunged forward and wrapped her arms around my neck then pressed her mouth against mine.
This isn’t what I expected to happen tonight, but I have to say, I’m pretty happy it did.

“You havea little bounce to your step,” Anjannette said when I walked into the studio.
“I feelsomuch better. Thank you for insisting I take a second night off.”
“You deserve it.”
“How’d everything go?”
“Classes went well and the routines are all coming along.”
“I’m just glad my uterus decided to wage a war on me during the week so I didn’t miss today’s beginners’ class.”
She didn’t say anything to that, but just narrowed her eyes.
“Something happened,” she said. “You look different.”
I nibbled at my bottom lip, trying to control the smile that was fighting to take over my face.
“Simon told me he loves me.”
She screeched.
“Oh honey, that’s so awesome.” She moved to hug me then froze. “You said it back, right?”
I rolled my eyes.
“Yes, I said it back.”
“Just checking.” She pulled me into her arms. “I’m happy for you.”
“I’m happy too.” Anjannette released me and stepped back. “I honestly never thought I could be this happy.”
“I understand that, but trust me, you’ll get used to it,” she said with a smile.
Students started to arrive and I sat at the desk to check them in.
Zoe and Sacha walked in and approached me.
“You’re all checked in,” I said.
“I thought I was in pretty good shape, but I was so sore last week,” Zoe said.
“You are in great shape, you just used different muscles.”
“Hopefully tonight will be easier.”
I scrunched my nose and they both groaned.
