Since Rowan had long since adjusted to the European tendency to eat at 8 pm or later, she'd acquiesced easily.

"It is over," he said.

She couldn't help wondering if he'd cut it short to see her. But that was really egotistical, wasn't it? No matter how much he liked her, a man as driven and focused as Lysander wasn't going to cancel an important meeting so he could spend time with her.

He reached her and kissed her. It was no sweet buss of lips to say hello, but a meeting of their mouths that made no attempt to deny the passion between them. By the time she'd been thoroughly greeted the bag she'd been carrying had fallen to the ground as well.

She stared down at it, unable to parse what she was supposed to do now.

"I think you befuddled her, boss."

"Befuddled?" Rowan mouthed to Lysander.

"Klaus is very proud of his vocabulary."

"I like the word befuddled. I've never seen someone it fit so well either."

That had her frowning, though not really upset. "I am not confused."

The look the security specialist gave her put that into question, but all Klaus did was grab the box of books she'd mentioned and ask his boss, "Where do you want these?"

"What are they?" Lysander asked.

"Books."

Lysander looked at Rowan. "You brought books?"

"I like to read." She'd been teased by both her family and her ex for being too bookish. Like that was a bad thing.

"I read business journals."

"No fiction?" she asked, appalled and trying not to show it.

Fiction was amazing.

"Perhaps you will recommend a book."

Well, that was an unexpected response. "Sure."

"Where would you like your books?"

"Anywhere I can find them easily."

"We can put a bookcase in the lounge." That's what he called his inner sanctum.

"Or the bedroom."

"I doubt you'll get much reading done in there."

Rowan almost laughed, but then she thought about it. Though she'd done most of her reading in bed in the past, she had to admit that even she could think of something she'd rather do in there than immerse herself in her favorite fictional worlds.

"The lounge it is then."

Klaus left without having to be instructed further.

"You don't have to install a bookcase just for me." She could keep her books in the box. It wasn't a permanent home for them after all.

Lysander didn't reply. He simply picked up the two bags she'd dropped and headed into his villa with them. Somehow seeing the billionaire carrying her luggage made this move in with him all the more real. Also, she couldn't imagine the other men in his world doing such a mundane chore.
