Rowan's brow furrowed and she shook her head. "Wow. That's some next level thirsty-stalking. The guy probably feels so used."

"What he feels is unemployed." And unemployable.

Klaus hadn't taken it well to find out one of his men had put Lysander at risk.

"You fired him? But Adele tricked him."

"Do not worry. She is getting her comeuppance as well." Fury surged through him when he thought of what the supermodel's machinations could have cost him. "She and Cyrus will regret trying to take you from me."

"You can be a little scary."

"Not to you."

"Never to me." Rowan's happy smile caused a much different feeling than anger to fill him.

"I'm thinking about selling my stock in Andino Enterprises to a competitor. I don't suppose you could help me with that?"

"It would be my pleasure."

"I can think of something a lot more pleasurable than facilitating a stock sale." She rocked her hips, rubbing herself over his rapidly growing erection.

They didn't make it to the bedroom.

CHAPTER 32

Rowan was in her office at the org when she heard an unwelcome, but unfortunately too familiar voice in the hall.

Looking up, she found Cyrus standing in the doorway to the small room.

It was a Cyrus unlike she had ever seen before. He had several days stubble on his face. His hair was unkempt, his suit worse for wear.

"You have got to get him to stop, Rowan. He's going to bankrupt us."

Uh oh.

Lysander hadn't said anything about what he planned to do in response to Cyrus and Adele's scheme to convince Rowan he'd cheated. She'd only asked once, and he'd told her not to worry about it.

So, she hadn't.

But she'd never doubted for a minute that Lysander would accept the faked photos and spurious claims by the supermodel lying down.

"You knew your brother holds grudges, why would you risk his wrath trying to make me believe that garbage about him and Adele?"

"I didn't know he wanted to marry you!" Cyrus looked unhinged. "How would I? Lysander doesn't do commitment."

"Sucks to be you, I guess."

"Is that all you can say? We were married ten years!"

"But were we? Really? I mean if you negated our vows within hours of speaking them, how married were we?"

Cyrus shook his head like she made no sense. "Look, I don't care about the land developer deal."

He didn't care about losing out on the 3.5 million dollars Lysander had negotiated making the sale on her behalf?

"That's a lot of money, but then again, it's not." It had never made sense to her that Cyrus would go to so much trouble to try to get back together for a few million.

Her dad? He wasn't swimming in a pond as big as the one the Andinos were in. Richard Johnson would have fought harder for less, but not Cyrus.
