It was more bullshit to deal with in this case.

“I swear to God, I’m going to put a bullet in her head if she doesn’t stop her garbage in this city,” she said. “What the hell is Artemis Dubois trying to do? Start a goddamn war?” she asked rhetorically.

He was honest.

While Elizabeth ran the FBI with Axelle, he was eyeball deep in the CIA. He’d heard mutterings of what was going down.

Basically, he had connections.

“LaRue, and I swear to God, you didn’t hear this from me, but the word from the main office is that she’s off the reservation.”

Oh, boy.

There was no way she was going to be able to leave her up to The Hunters. While they were good, and mercenaries, Artemis was a whole other kind of a mess.

She was more up her alley than theirs.

God.

Damn.

It.

Someone was going to have a clean-up in aisle New Orleans to take care of this.

Reaper continued.

“I talked to my contacts in the CIA, and the boss said she’s not taking calls anymore. There’s speculation on it too.”

She lifted a brow.

“Spill it.”

He lowered his voice.

“Again, this is supposed to be your mess to sort out, but I can give you a hint.”

She pulled out her phone and sent him money.

When his phone chimed, he nodded.

“I’m going to say that if you’re a betting woman, put it all on red.”

She knew what he was saying.

“The Russians that are coming to town? She is making that much money from them that she’d burn the CIA and go rogue?”

He nodded.

“Yep.”

She didn’t like this.

“What else have you heard. I just gave you a million, so that should buy me some intel and your help.”

That.

It.
