“Gene is coming back with us. He and Tommy are done, and he’s returning to the FBI.”

Chris lifted a brow.

“And is Ethan okay with that? You know since they were once a couple?”

She nodded.

“Tommy swears that they are going to rekindle what they had, and I’m about to lose my man.”

Chris reassured her.

“It won’t happen. Ethan is married to you, me, and in a relationship. Don’t let that rattle you.”

She leaned against the wall.

“It’s going to be in the papers that he’s having an affair. Gene kissed him on the street. Brace for it. There were likely pictures.”

He got it.

“Do you want me to talk to Ethan?” he asked.

She shook her head.

“No, I trust him. I also know how he’s struggling too. He’s loyal to Gene, and he does love him.”

Chris was aware.

“He loves him a lot.”

“So we’re going to have to make room for Gene. He’s likely going to be staying with us until Ethan helps get him settled, and on my team.”

He was honest.

“You are the most beautiful woman in the world.”

She smiled.

“And you’re my sexy ME. I do like seeing you in the aqua scrubs.”

He winked.

“Oh, I had a message for you,” he said as he picked up a paper that had just come over on the fax machine, pulled a pen from his scrub pocket, and signed it.

“What?” she asked.

“Callen requests that you get that sexy ass of yours back here because he’s not Elizabeth fucking Blackhawk, and he’s not solving this as easily as you would.”

She snorted.

“Poor CJ. Tell him I got the message, and I’m playing some dangerous games with an ex-CIA spook.”

He got it.

She wasn’t playing around.

“I’m sending the paper back,” he said, punching in the number on the screen that that had just been used to get him the paper.

“I love you, Christopher.”
